Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly gripe was the en suite, as a curvy lady I found it difficult to get through the shower door comfortably and both my husband and I found the sink a tight squeeze in the corner and kept catching our selves on the shelf. Need more teabags in room as only 2 English tea, need at least 6 , even when we asked for more only given 2 !!!
The hotel was fabulous, the interior and rooms were lovely. Very clean and everything we needed in our room , inc iron, sweets and nibbles were a lovely touch the bed was really comfortable , great nights sleep. The towels were lovely quality and big enough to go round me 😀The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble ,even got our taxi for our visit to Buckingham Palace and the Royal Garden Party.

United StatesA bit of a walk to our room in a separate wing. Carpets could have been a little cleaner, but the rest of the room and bathroom were spotless.
Breakfast was fantastic. They had gluten free options and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The room was SO quiet! The room size was great for the area and the price. There was a nice sized closet. No-charge mini bar that was re-stocked every day. Ironing board/iron and mini fridge. Overall, very happy with the hotel and the room and the staff.

CanadaPrice, but that is expensive London. Elevators, small and one has to wait when the hotel is busy. But again that is London !
The location, very practical to get anywhere by public transport in London very easily by bus, tube and walking, Hotel staff helpful, friendly and courteous. The room, a good size for London, well furnished, nicely decorated, bright, clean, quiet and the bed comfortable. Good clean and bright bathroom and shower. Breakfast offer is a wide variety of hot and cold buffet. We would go back.

United StatesI had a bathroom with a combination bath and shower, and I would have preferred just a full shower, but I actually did make use of the bathtub a few times so it turned out to be a good thing for me after all. The sidewalk in front of the hotel was almost always busy and not as wide as it should be, maybe, for the bus stop and folks walking past, but it's an older section of London so not surprising. The front of the hotel can only be accessed via about 8 steps (a more accessible entrance is inside the train station with key access) and the bell hop wasn't always looking out for people who needed help getting their luggage up the steps.
I stayed in a classic double room (single use). It was very spacious with quite high ceilings and large windows, and the furnishings were very comfortable. I liked the free bottles of water and cans of soda and a few small snacks that were replenished daily gratis. The staff were efficient for checking in and out, seating me for the buffet breakfast (quite ample and good), and cleaning my room thoroughly. I was particularly happy with the location, right next to Victoria train & tube station and a central hub for city buses and taxicabls, and only about 3 blocks from the Victoria Coach Station. There were plenty of places to eat, grab coffee or takeout, etc. and the train station had a good selection of shops. Also, the hotel building itself is incredibly grand and gorgeous, with beautiful tile work and chandeliers etc. The hotel is just down the street from Buckingham Palace, walking distance to several parks, and not far from Westminster and other popular tourist areas.

CanadaOur room was on the top floor of the "wing". It used to be two buildings which had been joined. To get to our room you had to walk through long halls and take two different elevators. t was a bit of a pain. The room was tiny. No space to spread out luggage. Don't book this size room unless you are travelling with carry-on only. We got up one morning to no hot water. There was a problem with the boiler which was fixed later that day. Not sure if this is a recurring problem or not. We wanted to have dinner (or at least drinks) in the hotel dining room which is called Soak. Super noisy. We went elsewhere.
The lobby is elegant. Staff were excellent. Very helpful with luggage (getting it up the steps) The concierge gave good information. Very helpful to our friends getting a taxi when they left. There was a traffic issue and they still managed to facilitate their departure. The room was clean and modern and the bed was comfortable but it was very small. Our friends paid a bit more but had a huge room. We found it to be a good location given the goals of our stay. Lots of coffee shop, restaurants in the area. Close to Buckingham Palace and other important sites.

CanadaFound it confusing to find my room. A little more instruction upon check in would be nice. Hot items in the Buffet breakfast later in the morning were not hot any more.
Great location near Victoria train and coach stations and near a taxi stand. Beautiful elegant hotel. Comfortable beds. Very clean and sleek modern room. Everything is in 100% tip top shape. Good buffet breakfast. Complimentary water and soda refilled daily is a nice perk. Rooms serviced on a daily basis.

United StatesVery disappointed in the change in the cocktail area where you changed the seating with high bench tables as you would find in a pub. I loved coming into the cocktail lounge after a day of sightseeing or in the evening after dinner. You have taken this away from your older guests because we can not relax on those horrendous large tables you have replaced by relaxing comfort chairs and couches, I WILL NOT BE STAYING AT YOUR HOTEL AGAIN BECAUSE THIS IS HOW MUCH IT MEANT TO ME TO ENJOY MY COCKTAIL,

United KingdomIt could be a little noisy, our room didn't have any sort of view. The 'club' atmosphere in the restaurant could be toned down early doors I think. But maybe the younger ones liked that.
Chose this hotel for the location. Easy connection from Euston and then out to the places we needed or wanted to visit. I also really like staying in old railway hotels. Very nice room and for London the cost wasn't too bad. Breakfast was OK, fairly standard and the coffee was drinkable. We ate in the hotel on the first night, pre theatre, and the food was good.

AustraliaThe Clermont was absolutely AMAZING and made our stay in London perfect! My friend and I cannot fault anything about the place, the hotel is beautiful, location is fantastic with Buckingham Palace just mere minutes away (even with the hop on and hop off buses right at your doorstep), and the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. It was lovely to see staff genuinely so happy and more than willing to help. The breakfast is also fantastic and you will definitely be looked after (thank you Muhammad!). Thank you The Clermont for making our stay in London such a pleasant experience!!

United KingdomAn observation about the reception area, is there is not enough seating when you are waiting. Also, no hooks for suit carriers when you are standing at the desks. The only thing in my opinion that lets the hotel down is the breakfast, which is just mediocre (not the staff, they were great!), it was very underwhelming and not what you would expect from the price you are paying for the hotel and rooms! Only the breakfast, everything else was amazing ...
The Hotel is amazing and the staff are very helpful and friendly. It's a great location for getting round some of the key sights of London. Our rooms were very spacious an airy and the double glazing really blocks out the sound of traffic! Its also full of history and I like that about a building ... the bars and restaurant are excellent.
