Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast hamper was lovely however we had to go to the local coop to get milk and water as the other rooms had used the milk and water. There was not any left for us.
The cocktails were great and the staff really lovely

United KingdomGood position and well decorated room. Delicious evening meal. It was a shame that the hamper breakfast was not of the same standard . A home cooked pastry/ bread rather than packet would have gained 10/10

United KingdomThe windows could do with improving but there was a note on them to say that they were in the process of having work done to them. Must cost a fortune to do those sorts of jobs as I imagine the windows are listed. Other than that the room was excellent - it felt very upmarket.
We stayed in a very nicely decorated room. The bathroom was really good and the continental breakfast in the room was just what we needed. There was a mini fridge outside the room which they had stocked up with water and milk which was really handy. Parking was available outside the front or back of the hotel. View from our window wasn't amazing but we weren't really there for the view so that's not a complaint, just an observation!

United KingdomThe breakfast which came in a basket in the room was perfectly OK but just a bit more care with it could have made quite a difference. There was only one piece of fruit for two of us, a bit of an impression of random multipack items being included and we gave up on trying to get the coffee machine to work - not sure all the required capsules were there and the instructions were not great. I don't think there were any staff there in the morning to ask - hence the breakfast in the basket.
A comfortable clean room in a nice part of Jedburgh which was very convenient for the Borders Abbeys Way which we were doing. There was no problem with rucksacks, boots etc.

United KingdomDisappointed with lack of option to have a cooked breakfast, the restaurant did not open for guests in the morning. The food in the hamper was not of a good standard and not a healthy option, containing instant cereal/porridge, 2 prepacked small croissants, 2 muffins an apple and an orange. Certainly not enough for two people, high in sugar content. Having to walk into the hotel through bar customers outside smoking.
Location, room cleanliness and comfort and very quiet.

United KingdomAlthough there was meant to be WiFi in the room we found the signal was hardly there so to access it we had to go downstairs, minor criticism. As there was no cooked breakfast available a hamper was provided which was fine but a small table would have been useful to plate up.
It was in a good location on the main street with easy access to places of interest. The room, although on the small side, was very clean with a comfortable bed. The cosy bar area was ideal for an evening tipple and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomBreakfast was help yourself from a limited selection left in a hamper in our room. Milk and yoghurt available in a fridge on the landing. It was fine for one night but we’d prefer a more conventional dining room breakfast for a longer stay.
Beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds and exceptionally clean. Fantastic restaurant for evening dinner and fab espresso martinis.

United KingdomIt was noisy: I was woken several times during the night with banging in the corridor and as guests went to their rooms. Also, with no one around in the morning, you had to guess about checking out!
The room was lovely, with a great en suite and good coffee (makes the difference in the morning!). Breakfast was a simple affair of croissants and cereal. Food in the restaurant was well worth it.
