Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing really - felt quite at ease and at home.
Lovely village, and exceptionally friendly hosts, Leo and Deana. Nice, well-decorated room with all the expected facilities, located just behind the inn, so removed from any noise. Excellent breakfast and also ate their the previous evening with a fair choice of meals that should cater for most people. Having been a wet day, it was pleasant to stroll around the village in the evening, and also to visit the church.

FranceWe didn't realize the restaurant was closed on a Monday, but we found somewhere to dine.
The room was spotless and the shower was superb. The breakfast was excellent. There was plenty of room for parking. We have a dog and the grounds were nicely mowed for walking her. I highly recommend this location.

United KingdomNothing! The only negative was not the pub, rather the lazy centralised accommodation booking services who are too idle to remove negative reviews when a property changes hands. This doesn't help new owners turn a property round.... and certainly doesn't help prospective customers make an informed choice.
Thoroughly pleasant country pub, friendly, welcoming and comfortable. Good value accommodation and food. Pleasant room and excellent shower.

United KingdomOnly minor comments: the floor length thermal curtains keep out the light but hanging in front of the radiator trap the heat behind so it's chilly in cold weather at night with them closed. Windowsill length ones are better. Some blinds or nets might also improve privacy in the day in these ground floor rooms too. Some people will love the church clock bell that never misses the top of hour 24/7, but others won't... sometimes felt a bit like Quasimodo - "the bells, the bells!!"
A very pleasant stay. Comfortable room, free adjacent parking and lovely food in the evening and for breakfast from very pleasant staff who are clearly experienced hoteliers.

United KingdomNothing to not like!
Lovely rural location. The rooms were separate from the pub, a purpose built room and en-suite, ground floor - own porch and seating area outside. Lovely hosts- friendly, breakfasts & evening meals delicious. Slightly more expensive meals than some pubs but definitely worth it . Breakfast cooked to order, advised night before approx time we wanted to eat - didn’t wait long and cooked breakfast was served. Pub was a lovely local , people very friendly. We’d definitely stay again.

United KingdomThere is nothing we didn't like - everything was great and would stay again
We booked to stay here, just the day before, on our way back from our NE England and York Trip. We wanted to stay flexible as we were visiting places along the way. We were not disappointed - We were greeted with a very warm welcome and the Husband and Wife team who recently took over this establishment couldn't have made our stay any better. The room was very comfortable with crisp fresh linen and fluffy towels, plenty of room, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in room and everything we needed for a good nights sleep. The rooms were in a lovely courtyard at the back of the main pub with a covered entrance leading directly to the restaurant and bar area for breakfast and evening meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. We heard some lovely stories of the local area and how they came to take over the pub and accommodation after retiring up this way. They both had the experience and the local community are very supportive of them both too. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Bull for its location to visit the neighbouring area and countryside which is beautiful.

United KingdomThe beds weren't very comfortable. Could maybe do with a mattress topper?
I loved how the rooms were separate from the pub. I thought they were really cute and quaint. There was no noise which is not something you'd expect staying at a pub. The staff where really friendly. The rooms were warm. The showers temps were easy to control with great water pressure. Super dog friendly. Really accommodating place. Breakfast was included and it was gorgeous infact all the food was really tasty. The Landlord went out of his way to ensure we were welcomed including the dog also ensuring we had plenty of coffee and milk for our rooms.
