Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was quite dark, lighting low and dark painted walls. The TV was on a side wall and could have been better situated in front of the beds.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was convenient for city centre. Beds were comfortable and temperature was good.

I stayed with my daughter from 14th to 16th February, and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent. My daughter was unwell on the last day and the receptionist who I think was called Shannon purchased her some chocolates and a hot water bottle. A lovely act of kindness we will always remember. MANY THANKS.

United KingdomEverything was very good - the only comment I would make is that I was very hot in the night. The next morning I found that the duvet was a heavy double feather duvet, doubled over to fit a single bed. But to be fair, I don’t like a heavy or hot duvet so it may be personal preference.
Generous sized room with a good bathroom. The hotel is 3 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street railway station (use the Stephensons Street exit) and a flat 5 minutes walk from the Town Hall. It was surprisingly quiet, given the location. Everything was immaculately clean.

United KingdomThe room was at the back of the hotel overlooking a scruffy building and walkway. If stopping for more than one night I would have asked to be moved . Room was overlooked with no net curtains to pull across It looks tired and needs a refurb but will say it was clean though.

United KingdomWasn’t that I didn’t like the property, but the shower does have a pressure temperament issue. If you have patience and turn the dials, it stays on for long enough. We laughed it off, it’s a harmless problem that fixes itself if you just turn the dial. there’s always the option to have a bath, so either way you will be clean.
Great place to stay. The bed was so comfortable, the second I lay down I was nodding off. no noise disturbances. considering the pub is downstairs and it were busy, there wasn’t a single thing heard. Tea and coffee station was supplied with everything from oat milk to biscuits (of course they was opened straight away, can’t beat a biscuit) whoever the cleaning staff are, they deserve recognition. We also need to appreciate the bathroom had a heated towel rail which was the best thing I’ve seen. Added security with key cards throughout all doors, so nobody from the pub can wonder around the hotel. They supplied lots of towels, which is fabulous, they are a great size…not like your standard small hotel towel. All of the staff were lovely, I’m unsure of the lady’s name who booked me in, but she was bubbly and gave us all the information we needed to know. The next morning, another wonderful member of staff asked if I slept well and if the room were okay. If you are looking for a hotel that will give you the moneys worth, book it now. Don’t wait, just do it. To the management and staff of this hotel, Thankyou. I’ll be back!

NetherlandsThe bed was a bit short for me, a little bit outdated but not disturbingly and it was comfortable and clean.
Close to the station, the lift was in maintenence but I was informed about this which is fair. I like the fact there's was plenty of tea and some cookies available at the room

United KingdomThe lighting in such a small room is quite misplaced, causing it to be quite dark in the middle of the room with lighting only really available around the outer edges. add to the fact that the window view was of a wall for the neighbouring building, and the room was quite dark even in daylight.
A very nice, clean room and a very comfortable bed. Welcoming and helpful reception staff, and a great location to all of our needs in Birmingham.

United KingdomDespite efforts of staff TV remote didn't work. Couldn't get towel rail to heat. Shower in the evening was not warm enough, though fine in the morning (just). Breakfast was served by a surly young man who was plainly not interested in his customers. Smokers hanging around the doors.
Excellent room, central for the city. Clean and comfortable. Great reception staff, looked after our bags before check in and after check out.
