Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast menu was very limited. Throughout our stay, we received no linen change, only fresh towels and little to no cleaning of the room which was a bit disappointing
The location of the hotel was superb, and the staff were so professional throughout, not to mention very kind and helpful.

United KingdomThe hotel is rather old school and a bit worn out. The carpets were quite dirty. The smoke alarm activated a few times without any reason and it even happened once during night. Also, we booked the room with a sea view but could hardly see anything through the windows as they were so dirty and covered with birds' poo.
I liked the location as the hotel is located opposite to the lovely beach and it's close to the town centre. The bed was comfy. I also liked that the kettle, tea and coffee were in the room.

United KingdomThe property had limited parking space and failed to mention about this before our arrival. We had to park several streets away which was quite a problem with the luggage and bad weather.

United KingdomWe had a bad experience with one of the temporary managers. We purchased 6 days parking at the front of the hotel which is not mentioned in their advert. It was £7-00 per day. They gave us a parking space at one end on the front of the hotel. Which was fine at £42 for six days. However after 2 days we returned from a day trip to Padstow, only to find that the Temp Manager had changed the parking reserve to put his friend in our space ( Another temp manager ). When I approached him about this matter he refused to tell me why he had changed our parking. I asked him several times. He eventually gave us our money back after a fuss, and allowed us to stay at the new parking bay. I kept wondering why ? The very next day we found out. My car was covered massively with Sea gull mess. It cost me £12 to clean. One of the staff kindly and quietly told me that's why he changed it, because no liked there car to be covered in Seagull mess. The rest of the staff were very good polite and helpful. However the manager was rude and ignorant. Sorry to complain but it was very wrong and impolite to be treated this way.
The location was ideal.

United KingdomThe shower water was too cold and so I couldn't shower nor wash my hair so went on to the airport in the morning to go to my holiday with unwashed hair which didn't feel good and then when I reached my accommodation in Spain, there was no hairdryer so would have been nice if the shower was warm or hot water so I could have washed my hair. The room itself and the shower room was very small. The size of room and dated fittings etc made us feel like we would have rather booked the Travelodge that was even nearer the station. We have used Travelodge loads over the years and was trying to give our business to a local hotel instead. The rear views aren't great but there's some distant hillside beyond the roof. we asked to have room change straight away, due to noise from refrigeration extractor from bar area as so noisy outside room. When we arrived a tad early we weren't offered to buy a hot or cold drink and were offered to store luggage instead and had to walk into the town to kill time and get a drink. It would have been nice to spend the half hour in the hotel with a cuppa, after our two hour train journey's and walk to the hotel instead of being sent away again. The reception staff were nice though so it wasn't their fault that there were no refreshments.
The staff changed our room with no hassle when we didn't like the first noisy room. The bed was comfortable and slept well. The location was good, close to the station. Everything was clean.

United KingdomFor the price I paid I cannot complain re the hotel. This hotel is good value for money.
For the price I paid I cannot complain. Room was tidy, bed was ok, tv good, shower in room. Excellent reception staff. Location was great - not in the centre: where you may hear noise from nightlife, but, only 5-10 mins walk to pubs/bars/restaurants…..beach is 20 seconds over road from hotel. Parking available outside hotel - if you pre book/if available. The thing with reviews is you get people who get a cheap price re hotel but expect Hilton standards - for what I paid for this hotel I was happy with the value I got. I would book again/would stay again.
