    Tolkein pub
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Standard Triple Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

No mini fridge and not a large TV for the size of the room. Not cheap but the area is not cheap. Parking is not a problem in the afternoon but can be tight with lots of traffic in the day. This is typical of the area. The pub does not have designated customer parking but street parking is free.

The breakfast was cooked fresh to order between 8:30 -9:30, which can be a but late for a tour day or travel day but seems pretty standard in this type of accommodation across the UK. The publican and staff are friendly and cheerful and the resident dog is a cute big poodle who is super placid and friendly. LOVE the links to Tolkein and the old wooden ceiling beams and the beer garden is a legitimately lovely garden. Very easy walk to the local laundromat where we could do a wash and dry a fairly large load for ten pounds in under 90 mins. The family room had a proper bed not a sofa bed which was appreciated.

Not exactly their fault, they only had twin beds available. Bathroom was a bit small.

Hotel was located on High Street, the very center of shops and beautiful historic buildings. The staff was extremely helpful and personable.

The stairs up to the room but I managed

The friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietor and his staff, the fun atmosphere of being in an English pub especially over the holiday weekend when musicians attracted crowds of visitors to the pub all of whom were civilised and friendly. The breakfast was good and delivered with a smile, the amenities in room were superb.

The upstairs guests were a bit loud, they were watching TV and it sounded like their TV was in our room. Soundproofing could improve.

Excellent location, friendly staff. There is a car park just across the road, which was £3 for 24 hours. The room looked exactly like the pictures. Comfortable beds and bedding. Lovely room.

This is a wonderful old inn and pub located in the center of the town of Moreton-in-Marsh. The train station is a few blocks away and there are restaurants located within easy walking distance. Our room was large, clean and had everything that we needed. The staff was very helpful and breakfast was included. We had a delightful stay.

Like many British bathrooms, there is almost nowhere to hang anything. So a cute bathroom, but not very functional.

The staff was super friendly, especially Findlay the dog/mascot. Our room was really charming with pitched, beamed ceiling in the "Hayloft' next door. Highly recommended. Unfortunately it's early spring so evening meals were not served, but breakfast was really good.

The location is excellent and within easy walking distance to and from the train station. Thank you so very much for making the vacation with my sister most memorable.
