How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Lovely staff and all in all decent motel lodge. I'd definitely stay here again and I liked the location. Sorry for leaving it messy but I was a bit of a shambles at the time

For the money, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The TV remote did not work, but this did not make a huge impact. However, the Wifi signal could be better.
For the money, this hotel was exactly what we needed it. Cheap, cheerful, and comfortable, close to the city centre. Breakfast is optional for a fee (we opted to eat in the city), but staff were helpful, and the bar downstairs was fun to have a drink in. Rooms were generally clean, even if the hotel generally needs a bit of a refresh.

The shelf in the wardrobe bit was on the floor when I arrived - there was a peg missing for it to rest on. I did put it up and was just mindful to be carful with it, but it could do with a new peg. There are no hooks in the bathroom for towels. Fresh coffee at breakfast would be nice - but for the price I paid I can't complain
For the price I paid the accomodation was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, I couldn't get the heater working but staff came and showed me how to work it (a switch on the wall). The room was warm, clean and comfortable and tea / coffee making equipment provided. I had a lovely shower which was lovely and warm and a great flow. Plenty of plugs by both sides of the bed. I didn't arrive until late so didn't expect them to be serving food, but this was served until 8pm and I had a meal which was freshly made (including chips) and good value for money. Breakfast was also freshly made, tasty and very good value for money (my only complaint there was it was instant coffee and not fresh, so I had orange juice the next day instead so not a problem.

Wasn't aware ID would be required at check in (maybe I missed it on Booking.com emails?). The bathroom ceiling was very mouldy and shower rail was balanced on the wall and fell off when simply turned on!
Bed was clean and comfortable, ideal when on a budget. Surrounding were quiet and warm, felt safe.

some black mold in my friends room with a musky odour Some very loud drunk people in the pub at closing time fixtures on the walls in the bathroom hanging off and no where to hang towel or toilet paper

Limited parking. Could do with rooms being updated. Had no remote control for television, then when got one, it didn't work.
Great value for money. Very close to bus stop, 20mins into city. Convience store and Chinese takeaway opposite. Great value breakfast. When not serving food, let us bring food in to eat.

The room was small. The shower had some dirt along side the shower tray. There was a dog barking till midnight.
The place is in a quite area. The bar very good. Nice and welcoming guy at the reception. Good parking.

i think the room needed updated new carpet and walls painted

Shower water could of been warmer.
Room was spotless, nice touch with mints on pillows. Bed was comfy. Shower was warm not hot. All the staff very friendly, the fry up was great and good value also. Was perfect for the 2 night stay.

Some rooms have no view. Wi-Fi can be a bit hit and miss.
Clean bedroom, lots of coffee etc. Handy for shops and bus routes. Parking good if driving.
