Nothing - it was great value for the money we paid.

The property was beautifully furnished and the rooms were a good size. All members of staff we spoke to were incredibly friendly and helpful - they couldn’t have done more to help. The breakfast options were very good including the ‘cold’ items. All in all it was a lovely stay and a great base to explore Birmingham.

Coffee at breakfast needs an upgrade, pretty sure it was instant that they put in a cafetiere. Can be noisy with the road though nothing some ear plugs won't sort if your bedroom is on the road.

The Aston Tavern is a wonderful place to stay,the staff are exceptional nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast excellent, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. The room was very clean and comfortable as was the whole hotel next time we come to Birmingham we know where we will be staying. Thank you Aston Tavern.!!

Only a one night stay for Commonwealth Games.

Everything seemed to have been considered in the recent huge re-vamp of an old pub. Evoking an Edwardian decor but with a totally modern feel, we so enjoyed our brief stay. The staff were delightful! Free car park.

it was a bit hot in the second floor rooms - definitely didn’t need the duvet but they would be lovely and cosy in the winter months!

Height of mattress. With 2 replacement hios and a knee, my husband found d it a bit difficult.

Unfortunately they had been let down by some staff and therefore the breakfast service was very slow and checkout a bit awkard. Seems the bar area is also the family lounge which is a bit weird.

Fantastic facilities with little extra touches here and there really made a difference, clearly a family business with everyone mucking in, when other staff hadn't showed up for the Sunday morning shift.

No real criticism but a fan in the room would have been nice as the weather was very warm.

Lovely friendly atmosphere, breakfast room spacious and clean. Loved the decor and the finishing touches. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Easy to get to off the M6.

The room was great, but the bed was really high and I am very short so had to use a chair to climb into bed. It was a very hot night and there was no fan in the room.

The breakfast was fantastic, something for everyone and the service was great. The location was fine and close to aston hall which was a short walk away on a summers night.

Only downside was the location we came by train and although only a 5 mins walk it wasn't the best the hotel definitely felt out of place for the area. Travel links both train and bus were however close and easily accessible .

This is the best hotel we've ever stayed in , we came for the commonwealth games . The staff were so unbelievably helpful and kind . Providing my young daughter with food when we got back late. The bed was so comfortable, the room was beautiful and the food was amazing. If we ever return to Birmingham this will be the only place we will stay.

That I could see a high level road from the garden but you can always change position where you sit!

The room were well appointment. Lovely furnishings and very original and of a high standard compared to standard box rooms found in hotels. There were some lovely items such as the cabinet with crockery, and tea tray. The public areas were spacious, light filled and comfy.
