The only gripe we had was that in the shepherds hut the bed was on wheels meaning that when turning over/getting comfortable the bed was moving and coming away from the headboard.

The shepherd’s hut was very cute and picturesque. It had everything you would need for a romantic night away.

Everything about this place was excellent. We stayed in a shepards hut, which had all the facilities we needed. It was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with a good choice of food and the staff were helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed a meal in the pub on one of our nights. Just a short drive away from Bamburgh Castle, which is spectacular.

The shepherds hut was absolutely beautiful. So clean, beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. We would stay again and recommend for anyone looking for a quiet and cosy night away. The breakfast was fantastic!

We generally stay closer to town so we can walk to dinner so having to drive to other places was not as convenient. This is not a criticism of the Inn, just a personal preference.

This is a complex of inn, huts and self catering with a nice restaurant. We stayed in the D'Arcy Suite above the inn and had a comfortable stay. Breakfasts are tasty and there are numerous choices. The staff was lovely, so helpful if we had a request. It is located in the countryside, a short drive outside of Bamburgh in a quiet area. We dined at the restaurant one evening and the food was good and well presented.

Stayed before in the suite above the inn last time. This time the other room I think it's called Braeburn. Very comfortable bed, excellent large bathroom, plenty of tea, coffee etc! A little noise from the pub till closing time, not from people more from kitchen fans etc! Superb breakfast.....amazing!! Very good value....Thank you.

Situated in a lovely quiet village with easy access to both the A1 and the Coast, ideal for using as a base to explore Northumberland. The Shepherds hut was clean, cosy and right next to the stream with a secure enclosed garden area with seating (ideal if you have your dog). The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. The staff at Apple Inn were welcoming, friendly and very accomodating.Nice breakfast choice - cooked breakfasts were very tasty and served hot. We didn't get chance to eat there in the evening but the menu looked very inviting. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to couples with or without dogs, although if to have a large breed you may find it a little cramped.

Blinds on the doors are fiddly/ take a while to open and close but do provide good privacy.

Adorable shepherds hut - very clean and well designed. Loved the log fire. Delicious cooked breakfast included. Good evening meal and entertainment in the evening. Great location for visiting Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles.

We stayed here as we were guests at a wedding in ellingham. The staff were quick to respond to an email regarding local taxi recommendations and early check in/drop off our bags and couldn’t be more helpful. Beautiful rooms and welcoming and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast and service. Wished we could have stayed longer

We went for dinner in the evening and service was really slow and hour and 20 minutes for a drink and mains. Manager needs to motivate the staff to be a tad quicker! Also at breakfast we ordered our choice off the menu then asked if we wanted anything else. Didn't say what we could have, nothing really explained and no table with pastries etc to have as well. My choice of coffee was a mug not a little pot for say 2 cups, just needs that extra little tweek. Food was expensive for what you got, but it's a captive audience.

Very easy going friendly and happy staff support an extremely well run business. The room was clean, comfortable and shower was amazing. Food was delicious having been created by an excellent chef.
