Kettle had to be unplugged from the wall to fill it up which was a pain and bathroom could do with a mould cleaner

Blinds on the doors are fiddly/ take a while to open and close but do provide good privacy.

Adorable shepherds hut - very clean and well designed. Loved the log fire. Delicious cooked breakfast included. Good evening meal and entertainment in the evening. Great location for visiting Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles.

We stayed here as we were guests at a wedding in ellingham. The staff were quick to respond to an email regarding local taxi recommendations and early check in/drop off our bags and couldn’t be more helpful. Beautiful rooms and welcoming and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast and service. Wished we could have stayed longer

We went for dinner in the evening and service was really slow and hour and 20 minutes for a drink and mains. Manager needs to motivate the staff to be a tad quicker! Also at breakfast we ordered our choice off the menu then asked if we wanted anything else. Didn't say what we could have, nothing really explained and no table with pastries etc to have as well. My choice of coffee was a mug not a little pot for say 2 cups, just needs that extra little tweek. Food was expensive for what you got, but it's a captive audience.

The staff from check in until leaving were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The shepherds hut was perfect for our needs with the dog. Evening meal at the pub was excellent! We can't wait to return

A little more attention to detail when cleaning the shower, as there were slight mould spots on the tiles and there was no soap for washing hands. But it deffo wouldn't stop me staying again.

The location was idyllic and ideal for a visit to Bamburgh and easy to get to the A1 for Berwick. The hotel/bar/restaurant was superb and the staff really went out of their way to look after us. Evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The D'Arcy Suite was lovely and spacious with modern feel and decor.

We loved The Apple Inn with their lovely staff who were all so helpful, friendly and fun. Lindsay Is A brilliant Manager. We enjoyed 'The Foxes Den' Shepherds hut. We couldn't have been happier celebrating my birthday in such a memorable family owned pub and village. A Big thank you to everyone Annette and Alistair

A spacious room in a quiet village. The food was very good and the staff were very friendly. The spa a few yards away was an added bonus and for a small charge you can swim which I did each morning.

The only negative thing we would say, and this is very nit picky, was that the eggs Benedict took quite a while to come out on our second morning. The poached eggs were overcooked on one of our plates and there was only one slice of bacon on one half of each of the muffins. This definitely wouldn’t put us off staying again though. This was literally the only slightly negative thing we could say. Everything else was perfect!

The location was perfect. We stayed in the D’Arcy which was lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We definitely recommend the big full breakfast, it set us up perfectly for our walk. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed. We ate here both nights and the food was delicious. We will definitely stay here again!

Cleaning could be more thorough, there was an empty packet beside the bed and a dog treat behind the bedroom door.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and accommodating of special requests. Recently refurbished room which was very comfortable. Convenient location just off the A1.
