Good room and good TV. Staff were excellent but hamstrung by ridiculous rules.

Everything was OK except the verification process for payment. It quoted rules about verification which was required by the EU. Britain is not in the EU, so why did those rules apply to me and the hotel? In the end, I couldn't pay with my nominated card and had to use another card which incurred extra costs due to exchange rates and fees. A lot of rigmarole.

The fact I asked when booking to have an angel room and received a pig room! When arriving I was told that information hadn’t been passed on. Was disappointed about this but the room was still nice. As I am a very into Angels it would have been nice to have my request taken into consideration.

The location of this hotel is great for all restaurants and bars. It was also good having a car park which we didn't have to pay for.

Lovely big room overlooking the high street. Lovely staff and we had a delicious meal. Access is really easy and you have a code for free parking behind the hotel. Lovely high street and a 5 min walk to Lymington harbour.

Superb location for an overnight stay before taking the morning ferry to Yarmouth. Wonderful old property. Large, comfortable room with lovely quirky touches. Evening meal was delicious (as 2 vegetarians we had plant-based burgers and cauliflower wings), friendly and efficient service. Thanks!

The chaotic service in the eating area. Upon arrival, we were told that someone would come to the table to take our drinks order - after 20 minutes of waiting, my partner went to the bar and got them himself. People who came in after us were served before us, and the table next to us had been there for two hours for two courses - the woman sent her food back as it wasn't what she ordered and one of the men was told that what he wanted wasn't available after his order had been taken. That said, when the food arrived, we couldn't fault it as it was one of the best roast dinners we've had. We will definitely stay again as we can't fault the accommodation but probably wouldn't eat there again.

I have mobility problems and could have done with a separate shower in the en suite, which was certainly large enough to fit one as well as the bath!

Good, freshly cooked breakfast, plenty of cooked options or a continental option (yoghurt, berries, granola, croissant etc.). Friendly staff, perfect location in the High Street. Parking available. Comfortable bed.

Everything was pretty good really. I had some difficulty at first with operating the lock to my bedroom door but got the hang of it after a while.

Hotel was an atmospheric old pub very conveniently situated in the middle of town near bus stops and railway station. The single room was comfortable and the breakfast menu was good

Running out of food in the Restaurant and rooms didn't have breakfast 🙃 for the price we paid was charged extra, and the room I has was very noisy because there was a pump nearby going on and off all night

The rooms are in need of some TLC. The decoration is patchy, the carpets are a bit worn out in places.

Breakfast was excellent, location at heart of the town withe parking was perfect. It is a beautiful old building.

The room was clean and a good size, but a bit tired, and the place was sometimes noisy. Communication was a bit frustrating - I had about 10-15 e-mails between booking and arrival but nobody answered the phone when I called (to try to get into the car park).

The location was pretty good, and the parking was useful. We were pleasantly surprised by the good view from the room - over the high street to the Solent.
