Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCan’t be changed but the drive up to the hotel was Not easy and I would imagine would put people off returning. Dissapointing about the vehicle charge point. At 25.00 per usage not cost effective unless in an emergency

New ZealandNothing really although the approach road is narrow and I would not have liked to back down or up if I met another car...
Warm welcome, very nice room, tasty dinner, good breakfast with a lot of choices. Parking on the property. Scenic location. Choice of rooms to sit in and an honesty bar.

United KingdomThe water in the shower over the bath was not reliable, going from hot to cold and then hot again. There was no grab handle in the bath. The bedrooms would benefit from redecoration. There was no mirror in the bedroom, so was unable to blow dry my hair properly.
Excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice. The honesty bar was a great idea. Beautiful, peaceful location. The bed was extremely comfortable. Appreciated the mobile phone charger in the room. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

United KingdomVery narrow lane and then narrow and steep driveway to get there. Fine to get up overall, but can see it being problematic if you're unlucky enough to have cross traffic. Implementing some sort of stop / go mechanism at the top and bottom of the driveway would remove this potential issue.
Great place to stay, comfortable rooms and very friendly and accommodating hosts. Breakfast and dinner were both great as well. Plenty of parking, and atmosphere of the place was lovely.

United KingdomWater in the room particularly as they have their own water filtering from the mountains. However, again the bar was an honesty bar and you could help yourself to water there. If we are honest we didn't like the very steep hill to the property and the narrow lane beforehand.
Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked and delicious. A good choice. However would have preferred the toast to be served finishing our breakfast. (although we could have asked as the host was most ameneable).

BelgiumThe only hurdle is the driveway, which is fairly steep, but there’s no getting around it. Luckily, most people leave early in the morning and arrive late in the afternoon, so there is rarely any cross-traffic. Otherwise the parking facilities near the house are spacious and provide charging for electric vehicles as well.
I would highly recommend a longer stay at the country house Sygun Fawr. It is nestled in the foothills of the mountain and provides stunning views over the Glaslyn valley. There is no substitute to waking up to such a view, or having a quiet drink late at night on the patio and seeing the golden sunlight move down the mountain. The managers instantly made us feel at home and went out of their way to help us as we toured Snowdonia, providing hot tips and sound advice. The food was fantastic, both the breakfasts and the dinners! You must try the banana bread at breakfast; it is delicious and is served up with honey gotten from their own hives. The dinners were provided by the expert hands of Paul and Kathy; just a day gone I already miss their cooking! The country house is perfectly situated and even for our longer excursions it took no more than an hour to get to either Conwy, Caernarfon or Harlech, or any of the trailheads.

NetherlandsWe had a wonderful time at Sygun Fawr. The breakfast was very tasty with a lot of different choices and the staff was really helpful and kind. Not to mention the beautiful view from the garden and how well it is located within Snowdonia National Park. It really felt like a ‘home away from home’ and we can’t wait to come back.

United StatesCan't think of anything bad to say. Be mindful of the very narrow road leading up to it but this is all part of the Welsh experience anyway.
The type of place you stay just to experience the property itself. A very quaint B&B with rich history, an amazing staff, and serene location. Option for dinner service is nice when you want to relax there for the evening.

Also the optional dinner service was great and very glad we chose to eat there one night. The honour bar is a great idea and very easy to operate.
