Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHard question. This apartment is a studio arrangement - the bed, kitchen, lounge and eating area are one. Suits me 100%, but some may find apartment 4 better as the bedroom is separate. Hoping for better weather at my next visit so I can make better use of the outside chairs and tables!
The view - you look out of the apartment across the parking area over a small green, and a river to the pub. I walked most days directly from the apartments. The instructions were clear, the apartment was well presented with a gift on arrival. The shower is huge! Handy hooks for your coats when you get in from a day's walking, there are tiles as you walk in so any mud is easily picked up.

United Kingdomabsolutely nothing ..the kitchen sink tap leaked, when you turned it on but quickly hand a tea towel to hand .apart from that nothing … it doesn’t have any amenities like shops ,just a pub ..but that’s what I was looking for
the place was set in the most beautiful setting .. with stunning views ..the room was spotless ,as was the kitchen area ,shower and toilet … my favourite was definitely the bed and the pillows , it was like sleeping on a cloud .. everything was extremely tasteful from the decoration to the furniture ..

United KingdomPerhaps a shower mat for the big shower, as a little slippery when wet and its big enough to allow you to pick up speed!

United KingdomWe love the location, which is in a beautiful area that we are already familiar with. The studio was very comfortable for two, particularly the mattress. The studio was very clean and tidy. We were greeted by the host , as we were slightly early, she was delivering milk and a cake, which was very welcome.

the location was beautiful. I am so glad that we did not stay in the town of Skipton or Grassinger. One night we ate at the town's pub with outdoor seating, dogs curled at owners' feet and blankets provided to help with the chill. We looked out over green grass, a small river and stone bridge. Our host is beyond hospitable. The day hikes were through gorgeous country . It was lambing season when we were there and so we were completely charmed. Everyone we met was especially kind and genuinely nice. Grassinger is where All Creatures Great and Small is filmed and they were shooting in the area. We want to return to see more of the area.

United KingdomThere was no sign pointing to the Rectory, so we had some difficulty finding the place. It would really be helpful to put a clear sign at the entrance to the grounds.

United KingdomWi-Fi could use a boost - it was too weak to process most tasks. That said, this did not detract from our stay too much, but it does need attention.

United KingdomThe fact was that it was a tiny annexe and not a cottage as assumed. The pictures show separate rooms and not one space, as it was. I found that deceiving. Plus, you see a house front on the images in booking.com and not a little annexe. The cooking facilities, oven, etc, let it down. And very little space to prepare food. The TV was old and not compatible for a game station/DVD player. I am slightly disappointed by that. I did appreciate the owners giving us a scart cable to check if the one I brought wasn't working properly. Sadly, the issue was the TV being too old and compatibility issues. It could do with an upgrade. I would say this is better suited for one person staying. My girlfriend whacked her leg on the side of the bed, trying to get in it and has a massive bruise and big lump. It's just too small a space, really. The bedding is a feather filled quilt and pillows, which set off both of our allergies. 😞 The bed was pretty comfy other than that. The bathroom facilities were really good.
The location was beautiful.
