How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The apartments are way smaller than depicted in the pictures and could do with some finishing.
The location is ideal within the city centre

Really didn't appreciate that rooms were not serviced on the 2nd day. Despite us talking to the cleaning staff about a request when cleaning the room

Very well equipped flat, provided everything I needed for a one night business trip. The kitchen facilities were better than I expected, and I could have easily been there for several days, able to cook, wash clothes, etc.

I booked Staycity for the first time as it's location to the Utilita Arena was in walking distance only 10 minutes. Also it's only a 10 minutes walk from New Street station, so no taxis were needed. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Are apartment room was utterly brilliant, full working kitchenette with dishwasher, plus tea and coffee available. Our bedroom was of a good size, very comfortable bed, and good size walk-in shower. I can't fault anything, excellent value for money 😀

Staff knocked on my door twice and disturbed me. Once to look at the table, which was fine. The other when I had booked two extra hours.

Could promote the Stay cafe more. No menu, no info, not sure what breakfast was? Just a set price for …. No idea what. When I asked I was told pancakes. We went somewhere else.
Great location for Utilita Arena. A lovely 5 minute walk along the canal to restaurants and bars. Secure shuttered parking. Comfy bed, tv, kitchen, coffee machine, all you need for a weekend break. Staff were all polite, smiling, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A 5 minute drive from the M6 so an easy drive/ location. Would recommend and will definitely stay next time.

They made me pay again even so i had paid on booking.com meaning i paid double for the room and am currently trying to get my money owed back but its a slow process

Location was great , only a ten minute walk to Utilita arena and bars and restaurants. The size of the apartment was excellent and well laid out and spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful cheery and friendly.and we pre-booked a parking space which was really good as you get the access code from reception and park your car in a secure shuttered off area next to the apartments.

Quite warm in the night with air conditioning fixed at 19 degrees. Other than that and that the washing machine was out of order - all great.
Great apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. Washing machine wasn't working - not that we needed to use it for our stay. Helpful reception staff who sorted our checkin and parking. Secure parking was available but not guaranteed - get there early. Bed really comfy, sofa bed less so, but functional. Great check in and check out times. Would definitely consider staying here again.

A couple of extra pillows would have been handy - we had to use cushions under the pillows on the sofa beds as there was only one pillow each. Kitchen area itself was clean but the small radiator opposite was very dirty. Floors weren't particularly clean.
Great value and a really good location close to the arena. Convenient to have a small kitchen and this was equipped with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, especially the main double. Bathroom was great.

Couldn't fold the sofabed out!
Asked to check in earlier as my daughter was struggling carrying her bag and the lady on reception was so helpful. The apartment was perfect for the Utilita arena, literally a 5 min walk down the canal. The room was really well equipped and quiet. The only issue was the sofabed. There were instructions for folding it out but we failed!

Great value, comfort and cleanliness. The staff are efficient and friendly. The location is perfect, lots of good pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance and the town centre is a 5min Uber away.
