Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDespite it not actually being very warm outside, inside the room with the Pods it was very warm. There is a small (what appears to be domestic for smaller rooms) air conditioning unit in the room but it didn't seem to be working, and so the windows were all open to try and keep it cool. However, this still didn't help to the point where I couldn't sleep with the duvet on. In addition, having the windows open meant that there was a lot of noise coming through from the bars downstairs and next door. Even with some really good earplugs I could still hear the beat of the music. I suspect that the fact I was so close to the windows (I was in Pod No.1, right next to the open windows) was a key factor here as I do not think those in Pods further up the room, or even around the corner in to the next little alcove of Pods, would have had the same issue. Finally, the toilets and shower facilities (they seem to be all individual and scattered around rather than a big shared space) are not really signposted so you end up having to explore and get lucky to find one that is available. This was ok in the evening as they were all free, but in the morning its a bit of a lottery and those that know where they all are have a better chance.
I stayed in one of the Private Pods which was great, the Pod itself was actually more spacious than you would have thought. The bed was comfortable and clean, the lockers for storing your things were large enough for all of my stuff (holdall, backpack, coat and shoes) and conveniently located opposite the bay of Pods I was allocated to, and there was hardly any noise from other Pods besides people coming and going through the door on occasion. There is a curtain which blocks most of the light coming from the room and gives you a decent amount of privacy, and getting in and out (I was on the top row) is easy easy enough (although I suggest anyone that may have difficulties climbing request a pod on the bottom row if possible). Staff on check in were very friendly and helpful too!

BrazilMany of the toilets were clogged. The showers weren't the cleanest. Some toilets are very far from the room. The lower beds are awful it's so low you can't sit without hitting your head. Take the upper bed, if possible. The lockers in the luggage room cost 5 pounds and they only accept coins. No cards.
The location is very good! Very close to borough market, to the tube. Very easy to reach main attractions. There is a pub in the hostel, and another great pub with live music in the sister hostel in the same steeet.

United KingdomVery noisy due to other guests up till 4am. Did not notice the staff intervening. Had to ask them to keep the noise down myself. The hostel is for back packers and we were there as a family member was admitted to Guys Hospital. Cannot really complain as local hotels were way out of budget.
We had a bunk bed in a private room with private bathroom. Room and bathroom were extremely clean. The shower was excellent with very hot water. Beds were super comfortable and the duvets were of a high quality.

CyprusThere is no breakfast included, there is a cost for the luggage store and in most hostels in most countries there is no such a cost. There is no fridge to keep something. There is no salon to sit 🪑 rest and speak with some tenants. It is mandatory to have your mobile 📱 with you all the time even to go toilet or for shower 🚿 because the key is in your mobile to open all doors.
Very clean, hot 🔥 water, very good location 2 km from big ben, Westminster Abbey, 3 Km from Buckingham palace and so on. 15 minutes from London Bridge. There is a lift inside, the check ✅ in is till 12 o'clock, there is luggage 🧳 room but it costs €5,80. There is free 🆓 water to drink and the building is so safe, there is application to open the doors.

SwedenIt’s few bathrooms compared to the amount of people living there. Some of the receptionists are not service minded. Some of the guests come in the room very loud and having loud sex in the middle of the night.
The property is located in the city and close to everything. It also has a pub if you rather want to stay indoors.

PolandOne downside - it’s a hostel with shared bedrooms. You can choose a private room but they are more expensive than shared of course. In a shared room you have to be prepared that someone enters your room at 2 am. It happened to me and it was really uncomfortable and scary. There is a rule that you should be quiet after 10 pm but in the same time people can be placed in your room in the middle of the night. I’ve been there twice and the first time I had a private room - much better choice in my opinion.
Localisation is excellent. Rooms and shared bathrooms very clean. Tasty breakfast. Really nice place to stay for a nice price.

PolandGenerally, the condition of the hostel is little worse then we can see on the photos. The space in the bed is quite small so you have to be careful not to hit the bed above.
The hostel is in good location, near to London Bridge. The staff is very nice and friendly and you can check in or check out on any time. Everything was clean. You have curtains in the bad, so you might have more privacy in the room. There are lockers in the rooms (with enough space for a bag but you need your lock or you can buy it there). They give a bed linien for free and you can rent a towel for a fee. I didn't hear the noise in the night, it was quiet. For this price it is a really good choice.

United KingdomNot many common areas or kitchen space, people in the room kept the lights on and were talking, the storage rack under the bed was hard to remove so people kept shaking my bed which was quite loud and violent (bottom bunk, so this was directly underneath me)
Great location, felt safe, plenty of bathroom space, bed curtain for some privacy (not the whole way round), bar/club downstairs that you cannot hear at all in the living areas, very social/friendly so you can make friends here (this may be bad for those who don't want to socialise), clean
