Now have to pay additional money to use the pool facilities. Only minor but the TV in the room was old and outdated, and the signal was appalling.

    I cannot think of anything

Everything was first class, this was my third time here, and my daughters are staying in July. If the price is right I will be back, we come over from Ireland to visit our son, so I check the rates before I visit, and hope the price will be OK, we tried staying on the 7th June to the 9th but it was too expensive, which was a pity. Hopefully in the autumn we will be back

The restaurant is very tired. It was not easy to book a table in the restaurant. This could only be done at the front desk, even they had issues with the software. The outside spaces have been neglected and were, for the most part, not available.

The staff were all pleasant and welcoming. The room was a good size and clean, although the bathroom was a bit tired. The food was reasonable in the restaurant.

The spa area was a bit disappointing. It seemed a bit dated and if I’d booked later, I would have had to pay £10 to use it. I don’t think that would’ve been value for money.

The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly when we checked in. The breakfast and room was good too.

You had to pay for parking ( although lady on front desk offered free parking after we complained) There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby for our entire stay, smelt like bad drains. We booked a twin and double room and were told they couldn't be beside one another...when we went ro our twin room it was made up as a double so housekeeping came to change it...but my mum's diuble room was also available to split the beds...so really think we could have been beside each other. We were far apart each other and on different floors which wasn't ideal.

Room was tired.. peeling paint, marks on the carpet, mould in the shower (loose drain cover) .. sofa bed looked a bit grubby and tired... overcharged for parking.... didn't feel it was value for money....

Reception staff were friendly and helpful at check-in, location is very good- very close to Exeter city centre and the room was spacious.

The new charge for using swimming pool didn’t show in email until after I made my booking. If I had known I had to pay £10 to use pool I would have stayed at another hotel, that was same rate and pool was free for hotel guests!

Room was clean but very tired. Paint work was chipped, the bottom of the bathroom door was in poor condition, laminate peeling away, paint on ceiling flaking off. Old fashioned and poorly kept furniture. Staff in restaurant at breakfast less than friendly!

Checking in was not smooth and blamed on a system not loading my booking so long delay which I found embarrassing as queue was very long. Breakfast was chaotic and disorganised and needs reviewing. Disappointed as was hoping for a relaxed leisurely breakfast.

Room was clean , comfortable with lovely shower facilities. Room had everything required and good choice of hot drinks as well as some cold drinks in the fridge. Very quiet and not disturbed by any guests coming or going.

I am coeliac so found the evening menu very limited in choice. The breakfast was fine with all the available food clearly labelled.

The location was perfect for our time in Exeter. The hotel was very spacious and the room we had was comfortable and quiet.

It's a shame that you now have to pay an additional ten pounds per person per visit for the pool. This is part of the reason my husband and I choose this hotel. We come child free and enjoy the use of the pool too. The extra money doesn't make it seem worth it.

Breakfast is gorgeous, lots of choice and good quality. Hotel rooms are great too, upgrade if you can, its worth it.
