Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThere was a bad smell which was present for the duration of my stay and when I had a visitor they too noticed the smell, describing it as "frousy". The smell really put me off and made me feel sick, leaving me unable to close the window. The window would not stay open unless propped up with something, all that was there to use was a small empty drink bottle which meant not enough ventilation to compensate for the terrible smell. Also there wasn't a kettle, which was very frustrating as there were tea, coffee, milk, suagr, mugs etc. just no kettle - such a damn tease.
The concierge was professional and helpful. I felt a certain level of security knowing he was there and he escorted a guest to my room making sure I was OK.

United KingdomRoom looked tired, broken glass table, Tv not working properly, shower temperature not adjustable, no hairdryer, no pans to use the stove and no lock chain/brace for extra security of the door. Also, the fire alarm was on for several minutes in the morning (Tuesday) but none cared to advise if it was a drill or what. I was out of the room in my pijamas when a lady guest advised it was a false alarm.
Location was perfect for me.

United KingdomI did speak to the receptionist at check-out and gave my feedback. The only thing I found wrong was that the TV would, after so many hours of being on, suddenly go black (turn off and on and seemed to fix it). Also, I do agree with other reviews that some of the furnishings could be replaced or renewed, but these did not affect my stay.
Lovely, pleasant stay. It was clean and tidy. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried about what might await, but I kept an open mind. I was very happy with my stay.

United KingdomAlthough the rooms were very clean and comfortable for a night's sleep, it could do with some cosmetic updating. The countertops' paint had worn away, the window's handle was broken, TV wasn't working. This didn't affect my stay but just something for the management to know and fix.
Staff were very lovely and accommodating, Sam was great,he did his best to take care of my requirements. Room was very clean, bathroom very clean, nice shower.

PortugalVery basic room, kitchennet had very limited utensils, one cup etc. The great thing that there is a Pound store nearby, so we bought paper cups and utensils to make coffee. The soundproofing isn't there- we could hear moaning of the neighbours late at night and early in the morning.
Great location- it was close to event I was attending, great restraurants, easy access to public transit and short metro ride to visit key attractions. we had a problem with hot water in shower and the front desk came over to fix it for us.

GreeceThe noise and the smell from humidity before entering the room leaves an unpleasant aesthetic.
The location of the Hotel was ideal. Room was clean and well organized, including all the basic kitchen stuff (fridge, oven and a tea pot). The neighborhood was really pleasant with lots of different shops, cafes and really close to the metro & train.
