WiFi coverage was very poor and for almost a full day so erratic (just a few hours on my first day ); no sockets in my dorm (well I counted 3 but couldn't access them), keeping my phone charged was my main concern during my stay.

Kitchen is a bit small and not very well stocked, struggled to find cutlery, oven glove and plates. Perhaps a chair and table in bedroom?

It’s central, staff are helpful, whilst I didn’t use - it has a bar and restaurant which I’ve used in the past. Room beds are comfortable. Shower and toilet clean, well stocked and shower easy to use.

Breakfast room wasn't really clean, tables and floor were sticky, long lane to the only coffee machine which took ages to brew coffee.

Very uncomfortable mattresses, cleanliness could have been better in the room and bathroom, requested cleaning never happened, rooms were not cozy, no opportunities to hang up coats or store things

The shower was a bit tight to get into, especially when trying not to let water escape as I like to have it running before I get in, to let it get to temperature. Man cleaning the pool tables during breakfast being a bit loud at times. Personally, it's not the best time to do this when people are trying to enjoy a quiet morning.

Nice clean tidy rooms, not loads of space but enough, slept great decent, breakfast and overall decent value for money.

For a hostel type of room, we rented a private room which was advertised as 2 single beds, but there are 2 bunk beds as well, making it 4 beds inside. There isn't much space, and I think that is why it's a bit expensive cause I am thinking we paid for those extra beds too to make the room private.

I like the location, its very central and near everywhere. I also like that they have a late check out option for 12£ which will extend your stay until 2pm.

The kitchen was just disgusting on many occasions we decided to use. No dishes enough and no sign of maintenance. We did prefer to eat outside.

Overall the stay was really good, but there are a couple of things that need some improvement. Definitely the mattresses need renewal, specially since the type of tourism in Edinburgh is to walk around the city to explore, so when we get to the hostel a good night of sleep is needed. Also reinforcing the windows would be great, since the rooms are above the bar, and we can hear the loud music and people partying downstairs. Everyone has their right to party, so reinforcing the windows to try and muffle the sound would be great. But again, the stay was great, this is just an improvement suggestion 👌

The location is incredible, near almost all of the landmarks in the city, has supermarkets, restaurants and close to the train and tram as well. The staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is not incredible but it has several options and the refills are done very often. Perfect place for a short stay no question.
