We had a meal one night in the claret jug and it was fairly mediocre. It wasn't that warm and lacking in flavour. However the breakfast area was nice and lots of choice but would rather have had a proper fried egg.

We were not aware that there were carpets being fitted whilst we stayed, lots of banging and knocking during daytime hours. Furniture from rooms in hallway and originally our room door was blocked with a chair The room had a loose board in the ceiling which needed to be screwed in. The spa was in places ,looking tired with rust patches. A little disappointed

We booked for afternoon tea which we were very disappointed by we were taken into the restaurant and popped into a corner by the windows which were very dirty there was no cloth on the table and all we could here were the staff at the bar area chatting and laughing we had to ask for more tea we did not get a description of what we were presented with which is very unusual we felt sad that it wasn’t better

We liked the hotel we didn’t go into the spar it was lovely and clean and breakfast was great

Couldn’t sit down and see if a mirror to do hair. Shampoo but no conditioner in bathroom. No glasses to have a drink of water

Think the spa could do with an update such as more loungers and probably my fault for not checking but I didn’t realise kids would be in the spa area so makes it less of a relaxation experience - I think there should be separate areas for children

The pool area was very small for the number of people.It was also a Health club,so even trying early in the day was not successful .

We upgraded online. Supposed to get robes and creams etc. No robes or creams in room, was told at reception that was not available for our room it was for view only. That was 100% not what was stated in email for upgrade (which surprisingly disappeared once it was added). Also cold water tap didn't work in bath. Rooms could do with upgrading.

Want a relaxing couple day, and that's what I had.

Had a treatment in the spa which was fabulous, however room was cold, pool area was crowded no space to sit and pool was freezing. Lunch was provided with our spa vouchers which were gifted to us and quite expensive, lunch was very disappointing- soup with warm bread ( no bread) and then a choice of 3 mains - opted for the linguine which had no sauce and just a couple of sliced tomatoes and rocket on top - totally tasteless. Dessert was fruit salad but actually just 2 types of melon.

Spa very misleading in size on photos and children’s swimming lessons which takes up a lot of the small swimming pool from 3 till 7

our daughter is getting married next year and that's was the reason for our stay so we could see the facilities we thought the hotel on the surface was clean but when you looked its was quite dirty and the outside patios need attention the chapel where the ceremony took place the windows were dirty so will not be booking venue for wedding

Overall we enjoyed our stay staff were excellent

Did not like being roomed by a workshop,furnisher outside our door ,woken up early by workmen,no heating,told reception and they said there is reburshing the rooms going on so why put in a room next to the working area close that area off,we booked as stop over on our way to Scotland and needed the rest .Thank you

The room was on the bottom floor, very dated. Slightly dusty. The spa was full of children. The evening meal we had was cold when it came to the table
