Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhere to start… firstly the parking isn’t free, the best option is to use the car park next door at £9 for 24hours. The property is easy to get into, but the stairs are ridiculously creaky going up to the first floor, the room appeared nice, to get the WiFi password we were told there was a sign in the room, it was like hide and seek, it turned out there was a little sticker up near the ceiling as you walked in the main door! The room comes with a mini kitchen and hot plate, but no sink or washing up liquid, but make use of what you have and wash up in the shower using the provided shower gel. The bed was nice and soft, although maybe too soft as when you roll in the night you almost fall out! Onto the shower room, the toilet wasn’t joined to the floor which is a safety concern and the shower, the gap to get in is only 37cm - no exaggeration! And the controls for the shower are for some reason on the other side of the wall near the sink? Also there’s an awkwardly placed shelf just above the bathroom sink - other than that a really nice stay.
Fantastic view from the balcony, the location was perfect and the room had everything we needed - it just wasn’t thought out very well.

United KingdomHardly any hangers and no drawers. Shower head needs sorting went all over bathroom. Also pillows are very poor. I would suggest a bit more milk to be left for longer staying guests. Only enough for a day or so

United KingdomNot saying we don’t like these points but just suggestions but could do with a few things added or changed Kitchen - there was a washing up bowl & washing up liquid but no sink ? Surely guests can’t be expected to wash up in the bathroom?? The kitchen backs on to the bathroom, so obviously there is plumbing available. Lounge/dining/ bedroom area - lights , full lights lit up every section of the suite (was like spotlights at a football match) lights not in sections - bed area , lounge, kitchen. TV too far away from the bed ( when away, everyone likes to relax and watch tv in bed … don’t they ?!?! ) Bathroom (huge bathroom) - nowhere to hang towels , nowhere to put toiletries
Location was great. The suite was very clean and comfortable.

United KingdomNot really a criticism, but information was a bit misleading regarding parking. The publicity info suggested ‘parking was included’ but this actually meant ‘parking was available’. When the confirmation came through, there was pressure (you had to book these at least 24hrs in advance) to either book a space at an extra at £15/day - suggesting a possible need for two days worth (£30 for an overnight stay?) OR purchase two ‘scratch card’ parking tickets at £8/day (£16 for an overnight stay?) - all a bit misleading - in actual fact there was a car park adjacent which was £9 for 24 hrs or 50p if you parked late and left early (before 8.00 am - a local person told us it was a well known trick by certain accommodation providers to get a bit extra - bit cheeky really but didn’t spoil our stay

United KingdomThere is no sink in the kitchen. Not good if you were a bit un steady to carry a bowl of water from the bathroom to wash your pots. They could have fitted a sink because it backs onto the shower so the plumbing must be there and it is a ground floor flat. Heater did not work in the main room only in the bathroom which did keep the whole place warm if we left the doors open.

United KingdomI had a problem with the heating in the living room..1st night it came on late & 2nd night did not come on at all. I had to wrap the quilt around me on the settee & the kettle did not work unless you held the switch down otherwise it just stopped boiling.
I liked the fact that it was a full studio appartment & the rainfall shower was fantastic. It was quite close to the centre & had pubs & chip shops close by.
