Breakfast cooked to order with plenty of variety. Friendly and professionally run hotel and most importantly accepting of our dog. The little touches made a difference ie the little bottles of fresh milk available for the tea tray and face flannel in the bathroom . Particularly impressed by the bathroom cleanliness .. not a single water mark on the shower screen!

There's nothing we could not like about Shipping Lanes. It was perfect for an affordable luxurious weekend away.

The room was comfortable with beautiful decor and everything you need for your stay provided. The view from the private balcony was breathtaking. The food was second to non, and the hosts were helpful and friendly.

This is a lovely little hotel, just a 10 minute walk along the sea front to the center of town. Being slightly out clearly helps this gem of a place remain quiet and peaceful. The owners are chatty and polite. The room was immaculate with some lovely little touches here and there. I had a great sea view room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

nothing to not like

When we checked in we were advised that we had been given the room called Trafalgar which is on the 1st floor. It was amazing with a balcony but too cold to use that however they had 2 seats in the bay window which overlooked the sea. As we were there to spend time relaxing this was a lovely room and a great location. There is a car park however we managed to park almost outside the hotel which as my husband has ME was ideal. We were asked for a time for breakfast and our choice for an Full English, there is also a choice of cereal, yogurts and fruit juices. We would highly recommend this hotel and the hosts were lovely and friendly. What more can you ask for.

The hotel is around a 20 minutes walk from The Platform. There are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby. The room had a balcony which faced beautiful Morecambe Bay. The room, itself, was tastefully decorated and extremely clean. There was plenty of good quality furniture and a hospitality tray, in the room. There were ensuite facilities which consisted of a good shower, toilet and hand-sink. All were clean to the highest standard. A non-slip mat, for the shower, was supplied. Breakfast was well-organised with plenty of tasty and filling food. The bar area was cosy with a friendly ambience. The hosts were, altogether, brilliant. This, really, is a fabulous hotel !

Size of bathroom meant a very small bath and limited room to hang towels/position the toilet roll holder. A lot of stairs! (it was our choice to stay in that room though, so can’t complain!) A mini fridge in the room would have been handy for the milk.

Lovely hosts, excellent location with sea view, spacious room, exceptionally clean, freshly cooked breakfast to order with veggie options. I liked the use of glass jars and bottles rather than disposable packaging, and consistent shipping theme throughout.

The hosts were wonderfully welcoming and the breakfast was fantastic, great full English which was appreciated after a weekend of hiking. Room was immaculately clean and comfortable, could not fault it and overall excellent value for money.

The bathroom was a little small although contained the essential facilities all in good working order. We would have liked a sea view but unfortunately there were no twin rooms with a sea view

The breakfast was excellent with everything cooked fresh, therefore it was piping hot. There was also a good choice. The dining room was pleasant and spacious
