How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The walls are very thin so I can hear voices from the next room. But no fault of the hotel, I believe most of the establishment in this area are built this way .
The location is good, not too far of a walk from the Paddington station especially if you have luggage to drag along. The lady at the reception (if am not mistaken her name is Stella) was one of joyous check-in we have encountered so far. She even gave us an upgrade to the room with an early check-in. The room was well sufficient for a night stay. I exceptionally liked their bed and pillows. All was clean and well.

Everything makes noise!!! Everywhere you walk. It was annoying you can hear everything around, especially the footsteps from above

First floor did not offer lift for luggage, only a very narrow winding staircase. Staff did help with heavy suitcases.
The room was quite small, but comfortable. Staff was very helpful.

The smell was horrible. It smelt like public bathrooms in the common areas. The rooms and quality of everything was very dated and the quality of the toiletries, food and drinks was pretty poor

The 2 twin bedroom was too small for 2 persons. Staff made a room change following morning to much more comfortable room.

I'd like to know how to use captioning on the TV. Our neighbor complained that our TV was too loud, which was probably true since I wear hearing aids. I don't think the TV offered captioning. I was writing in my journal with the TV on in the background so it wasn't a big deal to turn it off. (Apologies to the neighbor if he ever reads this.)
We love being a short walk to Paddington for the access to the Heathrow Express and several tube lines. (There's an elevator on the side of Paddington that's a block from the hotel.) We stayed at a hotel "in" Paddington and paid $160/day more. For $160, we can walk a block. Our room was a little small but we basically just slept and showered there. It's not why we went to London. The price was very competitive for the location and the service was fine.

The walls are thin, the insulation of the window is very bad, so it was always cold and windy. The staff wasn't really communicative: they had a fire drill (?) on the first day of our stay at 1:00 a.m. and no one told us about it, so it was scary to wake up to the firealarm at one in the morning... The rooms weren't that clean, but it was somewhat acceptable.
The room was very nice, the location is good and overall it was a good experiance. The location is very close to paddington station, but the Hyde park is also in a walking distance, and it is very lovely.

I wish I had known the hop on hop off bus tour we purchased at the hotel only went one way.
breakfast was good. Staff was helpful with directions and help with taxis and other transportation.
