    It was perfect .

The location was perfect, with stunning scenery. The owner was next door should we have needed anything. I would reccomend this property for those who want a countryside setting and a few mins drive to the beach. For a family too it is perfect as the property has a large garden for children. At the bottom of the lane there is a machine where you can buy fresh milk and shakes.

The locality was great but the accommodation was very disappointing.

On arrival, there were spiders and cobwebs in many of the kitchen cupboards and drawers. There was rust on the opening of the washing-machine and the kettle needed restarting each time it was used. Although the shower was excellent, the shower room was cold, stark and without an extraction-fan. Rust on the fittings of the towel rail and a leaky shower tray fitting also detracted from the enjoyment of the room. No towels were provided but we had been asked to take our own. The living room was the most comfortable and updated of the five rooms. New sofas and blinds and a tv helped to make it a room to relax in. The steps to the bedrooms were covered in a very old and worn carpet. The first bedroom had a new carpet but contained two old ‘hospital style’ single metal beds and cupboards that were old and which exhibited evidence of mould and spider webs. There was also evidence of dampness on the ceiling. The second, or main bedroom, had a very comfortable double-bed but was carpeted with the same type of carpet as on the stairs. The ‘painted’ units were old. There was also evidence of mould spores on the curtain backings and there was a draft under the sink. No waste bin was provided in either bedroom. It is easy to be critical but on balance we felt that the accommodation did not merit the description of a ‘charming two-bedroom house’. We appreciated the view of the owner’s private garden from the kitchen window but were always aware that any extra use of electricity would need to be paid for. The host was friendly, and it is with regret that I make these comments, but for the amount of money paid and the description provided, more might have been expected.

The accommodation, an annexe attached to a former farmhouse, comprises two bedrooms, a shower room and toilet, a living room and a kitchen diner. Situated near to Rhoscolyn, it provides a quiet base from which to explore the dramatic coast area of northwest Anglesey. A welcome bottle of wine greeted our arrival. According to the visitor books, it looks as if the accommodation began as a bed and breakfast business in 1969. Since then, changes have been made to update the rooms but, on first appearance, they and their fittings appear to be dated. Closer attention and use revealed issues that detract from its ‘charm’.

My daughter found the twin beds rather uncomfortable ( she has a bad back) We both tripped and fell a little way down the stairs on separate occasions. A second banister rail might be helpful!

Well equipped kitchen. Nicely decorated with little nautical touches. Lovely sitting room with comfortable sofas. Also lovely sitting out areas in beautifully kept garden overlooking the countryside.
