A traditional highland hotel in appearance, with comfortable facilities, it is situated in the mellow old town of Dornoch, yet looks out over the Royal Dornoch links golf course to the sea. I imagine that if you are a golfer, it must be pretty much ideal. The food was excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful.

Very little - if we’re picky, a bar fridge would have been useful in our room, and a queen bed rather than double..

Lovely little corner room with great view of the first hole. Clean, stylish, functional, and pet-friendly. Lovely brasserie for dinner, and again for breakfast, with panoramic views of the course. We played the Struie course and it was so convenient to walk barely 50m from the hotel to the first tee. Lovely friendly and helpful staff also..

There was nothing we didn't like!

We were here, four of us, for a sibling get together, the first since lockdown. It was the perfect venue and the weather made it even more special. Our twin rooms both overlooked the golf course and the sea beyond, which was an added bonus. The evening meal, served in the conservatory dining room, was superb - perfectly cooked and piping hot and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Breakfast was amazing!

As the town is very small we did experience many closures of shops and options for meals. Sunday and Monday are not good days to be traveling in many areas of the highlands. So many places are swarmed by the tour buses and cruise ships so it makes it often difficult to enjoy many of the stops in the area, finding a meal, facilities or even the scenery. There was no lift which of course is not unusual with the venues you’ll find north of Inverness.

The setting of the hotel was lovely. The meals were well done. Definitely take advantage of the on site restaurant as the options in the village are extremely limited. The rooms in the hotel were comfortable with the inevitable quirks you find in an older building.

Tiny thing was the acoustics between rooms. We were wakened up by our neighbour having a very long shower at 5.45am. We thought it was our shower running. However the next occupant wasn’t such an early riser so it was fine.

lovely location with fantastic views. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice food.

This is exactly what a stay in Scotland should be - and I am not a golfer. Stayed 4 days We felt welcomed, warm, comfortable and well fed. The staff were brilliant and the outlook to die for! The rooms are well presented and equipped but understated in a mature Scottish manner

The bathroom does not have any amenities. i used the bath tub and had to run to the dispenser to soap my body then get back in to the bath tub. The restaurant run out of banana for their pancake and its a very basic fruit.

I played golf so its very close to the golf course and it has a beautiful restaurant over looking at 1st tee

The staff were friendly especially the young receptionist & Isla, in the restaurant The views over the golf course / beach were wonderful The room was lovely / big (in the attic space) The food was good, but somewhat overpriced
