Breakfast excellent, with eggs from hens kept in the back garden. A good choice, particularly for anyone not wanting full English breakfast. The location is good for a quiet beach, away from the noisy town centre. The preserved steam train line passes close by, and adds to the attraction of the place. A very reasonable charge for a pleasant stay. A very quiet area; the wifi worked perfectly.

It was located very close to the beach and a small boating lake, and also a water adventure park. It was quiet, and the room overlooked woods and also had a sea view. The room was spacious and well furnished. The shower was very efficient. The breakfasts were a particular feature; beautifully prepared to order. The couple running the property were charming, friendly and very helpful.

Can’t think of anything to fault with the stay

I stayed with my daughter over the BH weekend as she was attending a dance competition. Sarah and Paul run it exceptionally well. The breakfast is superb and we even had an option to do takeout too which was good . You are able to specify exactly what breakfast you want and time slot of either 8 or 9 am, and the eggs are fresh every day from their own chicken coop. The room was immaculate . All the rooms have recently been refurbished and beautifully decorated, very airy and plenty of space. Fresh towels everyday if needed. Location was perfect for where we needed. Literally 8 minutes walk to our venue. It is located next to a park that leads down to the beach and also 5 min walk to the quaywest splashdown park. Had very enjoyable stay and will definitely return next year 😃

The room felt a little cold on your feet with the tiled floor so would advise on taking slippers if your in a dog friendly room but makes sense because your not worried about the dogs getting a carpet dirty.

The dog friendly rooms were ideal for us and the location is excellent. The hosts made sure we were looked after and even left us an Easter egg in the room.

Lovely guest house owners Sarah and Paul were incredibly friendly and told us all about their future plans for rowcroft lodge, room was cosy and had everything we needed, we stayed in dog friendly room downstairs, breakfast was lovely with eggs from the chickens,great location and short walk into Paignton and bars and restaurant, food and entertainment was great in catina in goodrington park also , definitely recommend, we hope to return

Location fab, cleanliness was great, comfortable dog friendly room, small touches (doggy treats on arrival and names on breakfast table) recommendations for places to eat and visit. Hosts were friendly and attentive. Liked that we were allowed to order take-away and eat at our breakfast table. Breakfast was lovely.

Having to leave.

Sarah and Paul are exceptional hosts, very friendly, helpful and attentive. Staying at Rowcroft Lodge is like a home from home. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Sarah's breakfasts are delicious and she catered for my gluten-free dietary needs. We are delighted with our stay with and highly recommend Rowcroft Lodge.

Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our room which overlooked the park and a partial see view was excellent and recently refurbished. Very close to the beach but quiet at night for a good nights sleep

This isn't something that we didn't like, but there isn't anywhere else to write this, unfortunately... There is free parking on-site for 3 cars, and with the on-road parking too, it can sometimes be a little tight (but not impossible) when trying to reverse out. But that's me being picky and ultimately the road is full of beautiful Victorian terraced houses & naturally we're built to accommodate having dozens of cars parked outside.

Location is ideal in terms of proximity to the beach & getting around Devon in general. Sarah and Paul were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was light, airy, clean and had a lovely view of the park and sea. Breakfast was to die for - locally sourced produce for the Full English (including duck & hen eggs laid on site, it doesn't get more local than that!) - quite possibly the best I've ever tasted, with an emphasis on quality - with a good choice of other options (my daughter loved the waffles!) Quite simply, we'll be returning whenever in Devon in the future.
