We booked a double room but got a twin. Check-in and check-out staff could have been friendlier.

The hotel was in a lovely old building. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Some staff were friendly.

The bathroom shower flooded the place when switched on and although everything was compact - there was not much room to manoeuvre as the towel rail was so big. Had dinner one evening and I was very disappointed. The food did not reflect how it was described on the menu. Hard potatoes, boiled chicken wrapped in a slice of bacon that looked like it had been boiled too! Blue cheese filling turned out to be what I think may have been cream cheese. Were told it would take 25minutes to cook, which was fine; but when you wait so long you expect perfection. This was not a good meal. Dessert was lemon roulade or so I thought. It turned out to be strawberry roulade. It was not meringue - it was more like mousse with sliced strawberries and quite unpleasant. The cream on the side was the best. Everything just lacked flavour and finesse and was certainly not worth the cost! I was dining with family and no one enjoyed their meal.

Continental breakfast. It cost extra for cooked, though the continental was adequate with plenty selection. Had a good sized room, was pretty clean.

A minor comment would be that the lighting in the bedroom was a bit low level making it difficult to read. This did not detract from our enjoyment though.

The hotel has a lot of character and is very nicely decorated and furnished. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere. It is in a lovely position in a very good residential area with easy access to the surrounding areas. Our room was in the annexe and was very quiet and spacious. The four poster bed was very comfortable and the bedding was good quality. Everything was very clean. There was a bath with overhead shower and plenty of hot water! The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent. The breakfasts were good and there was plenty of choice. The dining room is very pleasant overlooking the gardens and you can sit outside on a nice day. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return.

Wasn't too impressed with the food in the restaurant, not saying it was bad, but the goose pate was dry, and would have preferred toast to bread, the main course was lamb which was more fat than meat. Maybe a bad night...

Rooms are dated and not very clean, cobwebs and definitely in need of modernisation. Got very cold in the night too.

To be honest - nothing ! We liked everything. Even the horrible weather did not spoil our stay and we hope to go back soon.

The staff were all great, helpful, friendly and the food was excellent and quite honestly a lovely surprise after a recent experience elsewhere. The room was larger than expected and although needing a little tlc in places, very comfortable

TV was incorrectly hung on the wall, and not conveniently located, but we weren't bothered about watching TV so it didn't affect our stay.

Good check in. Friendly staff. Interesting layout of the superior room. Clever mirror in the bathroom with a digital clock. It wasn't the correct time, but it gave a small light for nighttime.

Not so much a complaint, but the bedroom was somewhat hot, and because it was situated on the ground floor, it was not feasible to leave the windows open. Two fans were available in the room, but they did tend to rattle in use.

The complimentary breakfast is extremely good, and for a small fee a hot cooked meal is available. The staff are extremely friendly. Hotel is situated in peaceful surroundings and there is plenty of available onsite parking.

Gorgeous country hotel. Massive bedrooms with four poster beds and good restaurant. Great value for money. Staff were lovely, let us take away breakfast as we had to check out early.

The room was very dusty. My toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. Dust and hair in the bathroom. A dirty sock under the bed. The scatter cushion decorating the bed was dirty and leaning on the pillow. My sister's room had similar issues(no sock!) but black mould on the shower head.

Good selection of breakfast items. Dinner was fantastic. Room was a good size for a single. Nice to have an option of a bath. The room was lovely and quiet. Plenty of parking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast- wasn't very many selection of packaged cereals - only 3 porridges on offer packaged. Not much fruit on offer.

The room was on the ground floor with the window overlooking the carpark. Could do with Air con if guest are concerned have an open window on Ground floor.
