Unfortunately, the pub next door had closed and no restaurants within walking distance, although some lovely pubs a short drive away. The bathroom was very clean and new but a little compact, difficulty washing face and cleaning teeth in small sink, shower average size but this is being very picky.

extremely clean and newly updated, has good lighting, extra heater/fan, tea/coffee, with fabulous communication from the owner - nothing too much trouble and prompt with answering questions, plenty of car parking, 10min walk to the race course, lovely quiet village setting.

Ideally places for an event at Kelam House. About three miles away. Snug and comfy room. Cosy bed like a cloud. Plenary of yes coffe and biscuits. Lots of nice extras. Very efficient way of collecting and returning the keys. The host kindly sent me a very informative text on the morning of our arrival Would certainly stay again if we are in the area. Thank you

The walls were very thin and I could hear the people in the room next door. The shower had a variable temperature.

Very clean, everything looked brand new, everything had been thought of (water, eye mask, sewing kit etc). Felt very safe there.

An additional small table under the TV would have been helpful. Cosy bathroom - not much room!

Small moan, only thing missing from the room was an iron, was staying for a wedding needed to iron a shirt so had to buy an iron.

Easy check in via lock box key. The room was spotless. A dogs bed and treats were a nice surprise. Good location for the showground. Owner sent good directions to find property. I also found a garden centre nearby that was dog friendly and served nice food.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like but if you don't care to stay in a lovely village then this is not for you.

Quiet, spotlessly clean, comfortable and the host very friendly and helpful. Plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits provided and the small extra touches very gratefully received. Added advantage there is a pub right next door where they serve delicious food. It exceeded our expectations and you will not be disappointed staying here.

As the rooms are close together, there is the possibility of noise from other guests on occasion, especially as the room doors slam shut if they are let go rather than being closed carefully.

The room was spotlessly clean, and ideally located for visiting attractions locally. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom, whilst small had a great walk in shower. Communication with the owner was excellent. There was an information folder which covered everything you might want to know. We greatly enjoyed our stay. Only a few steps to a nice pub for an evening meal. Plenty of space to park.

Probably the one thing to improve was the towel provided - I'm quite short and it was a bit small even for me so a bigger one would be great. Other than that, the only "issue" I had were other guests coming in at just after midnight on night one, and a different group at about 2am the second night, who then woke me up an hour before my alarm was due by going in and out of their room right next to mine. Now, I'm not here to tell people what time to come back and sleep, but the doors all shut quite loudly if you let them go, and you'd think after hearing the noise it made once there would be some consideration for other guests. Maybe a sign in the hallway as a reminder or some "do not disturb" cards for the doors would be an easy reminder. This hasn't put me off staying here, you can get noisy guests anywhere, but at least with a written reminder they can't really say they missed it/didn't consider it.

I had check-in instructions sent to my phone on the morning of the day that I arrived, so plenty of time to read through them. The messages also indicated that the owner lives local and has a contact number to call if you need anything/something in your room isn't right. My room was a decent size for a single, and the shower was easy to figure out. I had more than enough space to put my things; a fixed rail over a set of drawers were available but for my 2 night stay it wasn't worth me putting my clothing in there. Ideal for a longer stay though! There is also a pub next door, and others within 5-10 minute drive away as well as shops/petrol station etc so despite the quiet location, you're not far from amenities. Southwell Racecourse is also nearby for anyone wishing to stay around their race meetings.

Excellent little stop over as we were in Southwell for the racing on Sunday. Hosts very accommodating with a Few requests and the place was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable and excellent value for us and our friends for the evening. Would happily recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet country getaway. Plus there’s a cracking pub next door 👍🏻

How noisy the doors are when they open and close. That is the literally only thing that was a bit irritating - if someone comes in late at night to one of the other rooms, it’s virtually impossible not to wake up when they are unlocking and opening and closing their doors. Thankfully, I go to bed late usually, so that didn’t bother me much, but it may bother other light sleepers who go to bed early. If there are no other guests, this place is perfect!

Extremely clean; had a lovely fresh smell throughout; felt brand new; quiet (no traffic noise!); had everything I needed - attention to little details in making the room as comfy as possible was really appreciated; the bathroom was immaculate and had been properly cleaned (the silver taps were shining); the carpet was super soft and felt new; easy to check in & check out; parking right outside; very comfortable bed.
