Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe cottage was perfect for our one night stay. My mum & Dad have limited mobility & it was perfect being on one level with a rail in the big walk in shower.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like.
😃Awesome stay here for one night a few weeks back. Stopping over with my Wife and three young children on our way back from Peppa Pig World to break up the journey and be close to Stone Henge for the next day. We booked last minute and the proprietors could not have been more accommodating. The cottage itself is top notch, extremely clean and well equipped. We were only staying a night but you could easily stay a week or more an it would be like living home from home. Highly recommend and quote likely we'll be back again in the future. 10/10

United KingdomWe loved the huge bed, as we share with our toddler so it was good to have plenty of space. No stairs so it was much safer for little ones. Wonderful garden with beautiful mature trees and a trampoline which was a big hit with our 4 year old. A lovely friendly dog who came to us for cuddles each day 😍 The hosts gave us directions for where to park for walking to Stonehenge and were very friendly and helpful. Lots of hot water and good pressure in the shower. Washing machine and dryer was very useful as we had all got soaked in a thunderstorm the day before we arrived.

Clean accommodation with beautiful garden. Very helpful and accommodating hosts. Was fun to do BBQ for dinner. Nice to have breakfast stuffs in the kitchen. Great location - within 5 minutes on foot to town centre to go to a supermarket or a restaurant. Stonehenge is very close. We drove to a public path and then walked up. Wonderful experience for life. Would like to come back when we have a chance.

United KingdomThe house and cottage have a very large garden. Gardening is obviously not an interest of theirs, but renting is not cheap, a little attention to the immediate area around the cottage would give a much better impression and experience for guests.
Breakfast was adequate for us, all we needed. Both hosts friendly and accommodating. Cottage exceptionally clean with everything we needed. BBQ layed ready to use!

United KingdomI found the cottage very comfortable but as just a couple would have enjoyed the sitting and dining room not to have had two extra beds in the same room - sofa beds or a day bed might be the answer. I do understand that the owners are trying to provide extra accommodation but a point to consider I think. Also I had read reviews of the gardens which sounded delightful, but as a keen gardener, I thought they looked unloved and neglected.
Julia was great most helpful providing a good variety of breakfast cereals, butter, milk, bread, juice, yoghurt in fact every thing to make a very substantial breakfast. We also enjoyed and appreciated the bottle of fizz. Julia was also well aware of the covid regulations and we felt very safe. The location was great for visiting the many places of interest, also a short walk into Amsbury. We thoroughly recommend Piazza Italian restaurant and enjoyed visiting the pubs on the river at the Woodfords.

United KingdomMy only suggestion would be to have some eggs for breakfast as well and would have preferred brown bread but there is an Aldi and Co-op in the village which solved that.
Stayed 2 nights with family of 5. Lovely, clean and spacious cottage. Julia was at home to welcome us. Our boys and myself had fun playing tennis on the court at the back of the large garden. Breakfast items were left in the kitchen and fridge : white bread, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, orange juice, yoghurts, mini jams, butter, selection of cereals,... Good faultless internet connection with same time use of 3 laptops and smartphone. Within walking distance of the village. Perfect location for visiting Stonehenge and Salisbury. If we ever come back to the area, I would happily stay here again.

United KingdomThe host had provided breakfast items. The location was quiet and it was easy to visit sites of interest by car. We also liked the tennis court at the back of the garden and equipment was provided, we were able to use the garden. We liked the river walks near the accommodation. Accommodation was suitable for dog lovers as the pet dogs would be in the garden occasionally.
