Evening meal options were very pricey, rooms were kinda chilly and could have used some extra blankets.

I organize student travel, and brought a group of 13 to Roam West. Communication with the facility was quick and helpful. The location of this hostel was great, as our preference was to be away from crowds and noise--Roam West is in a beautiful setting! The beds were comfortable, except for the bunk bed mattresses, which were very springy. This hostel felt very safe and it was quiet and very family friendly. Parking options weren't the best, but we had no concerns about the security of our vehicles, which was nice. The rooms were a little cold, and we all felt we needed an extra blanket. The bathroom lights were motion sensitive and on timers--several of us were caught unawares when the lights went out during our shower and we had to find a way reach out an arm to wave at the motion sensor to get them back on. We did not have the opportunity to try breakfast or dinner. We arrived late in the evening, so only interacted with one staff member, but he was very pleasant and cheerful. Before booking, we did not understand that this was a hostel--that's on us. With a better understanding now of what to expect, we would absolutely stay here again, modifying our expectations. Everything was extremely clean, and that was one of our top priorities, and each room had it's own bathroom, so we would definitely come back. :)

Walls are thin so expect to hear your neighbours. TV in unit 7 needs some attention.

We had the shared kitchen largely to ourselves. It was a lovely spot to sit and read in the sun. Dinner at the Roam West pub was top notch.

The dinning room table was unfortunately quite sticky and they forgot to serve one of the beverages for quite some time. The server was very friendly and the food overall was satisfactory. Breakfast is/was not available although the menu online indicated a simple one was available. Not even coffee was available. The toilet did not flush without extra effort.

Location was very convenient, close to the main road, lovely view and the layout of the facility (lodge and restaurant was very convenient). The beds, the double, single and bunk beds were conformable.

The shower area really need an upgrade. The shower curtain has seen better days.

The family room was comfortable for 4 adults. Food at the restaurant was yummy and the bar was a bonus for whisky tasters. The little kitchen is good for simple food preparation

Took us a while to work out how to get the hot water and the shower working because someone before us had turned off the switch. There was a sign outside the bathroom stating that this switch should always be on but maybe this sign should have been in the bathroom itself.

Loved the spacious visitors lounge and kitchen facilities - that was a great space to unwind, enjoy a cuppa etc. Rooms were quite nice too and warm.

The wifi was terrible. It kept cutting out. The oven in the shared kitchen took a long time to cook leading to a late dinner for the family. The room and facilities look and feel a bit outdated and in need of a spruce up.

The room was very small, just enough space for two beds, there was no space left to open our luggage. There are no views at all, window faced the property back wall.

The reception is not clearly labeled, nor is there a board on the road indicating the hotel name so it is confusing to find the hotel. The road is covered with gravel not ideal for walking with luggage. Further, the TV remotes in our room was not working. We reported to the hotel on the very 1st day but no one showed up to fix and support. The wi-fi was also poor, and other guests also had this issue. In the bathroom, the wash basin is very small and short, but the shower area is great. That said, very poor value for money.

The hotel is located in Corran, just 0.2 mile from the bus stop. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils, appliances, mini fridges, and storage boxes with labeled room numbers. There is also a drying room and a farm right by the hotel. The bar offers dining menu, although a bit expensive.

Check in was advertised to close at 22:00. When I arrived at 21:45 there was no staff onsite. This meant I had to phone to get into the building/room.

As already mentioned the fridges and freezer could do with being labelled and although there are 2 sinks in the kitchen only one had a plug.

The kitchen is well equipped although the fridges and freezer could do with labelling as none of us were certain which were which. The room and shower room were spacious and very clean. This was our second stay and we’ll be back.

Never experienced such a compact room before but it was fine for an overnight. Shower was nice and hot and soaps provided. John, the owner, does an outstanding job with managing this operation. Big shared kitchen was well kept. Staff were very receptive and helpful.
