Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDuring the wedding we attended we could hear kitchen staff shouting. Breakfast very poor. Ran out of beer before the night guests arrived which was very upsetting for the bridal couple.

United KingdomBreakfast - coffee and tea were tepid and coffee was bitter. Yoghurts were of cheaper quality, as was the fruit juice. I would prefer to have paid a bit more for better quality coffee (being able to order speciality coffees would have been perfect), yoghurt and fruit juice. The room was noisy in the mornings with road noise but very quiet in the evening.
Room on ground level for my elderly mum which was great. Room clean and comfortable and near my brother as requested. Bathroom fitted to a good standard. Breakfast was a reasonable selection - my brother enjoyed his fried breakfast and the pastries were very pleasant. Dinner was excellent - very enjoyable meal with no complaints - staff very attentive and pleasant. Gardens and hotel surroundings very pleasant - we enjoyed a walk around the gardens.

United KingdomBarman( blond shoulder length hair beard and stocky build) customer service non existent, felt I was a burden to be served. No eye contact no smiles basically gave me the impression he didn’t want to be there. Miserable .My impression was also shared by others who felt the same way. We stayed here on the 24.05.24 my brothers wedding

United KingdomBooked early as wedding guests so would have preferred to stay in the main building. No mirror when drying hair. Breakfast was adequate but scrambled eggs were not made from fresh eggs but probably reconstituted eggs. Many issues in the marquee probably due to lack of staff. Little choice at the bar, room very cold in the evening.

United KingdomDelivery driver making ridiculous amounts of noise at 7am for about 15 minutes Saturday morning . We came away for a peaceful time and a little lay in but that was ruined and it seamed like he was trying to make as much noise as he possibly could !! So In the end we just got up and went for breakfast .

United KingdomThe week before our stay I emailed the hotel to enquire how much extra to use the spa facilities during our stay..was told £39 for one person or £69 for a couple to use the spa facilities for 4hrs which a pre payment would be taken before arrival. I spoke to the spa direct and paid £69 . When we checked into the hotel after using the spa .on the front desk there was a offer for guests to book monday to thursday up to the 31st may to use the spa facilities for £35 for a couple .I asked the receptionist when did this offer start as I only booked and paid on the 18th April but was charged £69 .she didn't know when the offer started and to contact the spa direct as their separate. I tried to phone from the room a couple of times but no answer. Was very disappointed as surely the spa staff must of known this offer would be in place during our stay but never mention anything .
Our stay was booked for our anniversary, on my booking request I messaged to request a featured room ( four poster bed ) wanted to make our anniversary stay special, delighted when we checked in to find 2 beautiful Swan towels and rose petals laid out on the bed .the room also had a whirl pool corner bath.

United KingdomThis is not a spa hotel, it has a spa in the grounds that you are required to pay £35 pp extra for. This is a first for me, I like a spa so often choose somewhere with one but this is the first time I've been asked to pay extra. We also dined in the restaurant and witnessed a scene suitable for a Fawlty towers episode where people were unknowingly sat in the dog friendly area so when other patrons arrived with dogs all hell let loose, everyone was complaining and the staff just made things worse with their handling of it with management hiding out the back and sending a very young girl to deal with very irate customers. Didn't spoil our stay but the customer service was not great.
We would definitely stay again, it's a very nice hotel and very convenient for family. The room was of an excellent standard and had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good.

United KingdomFood and drink not always as hot as as they should have been. Restaurant staff asked only once over 6 meals whether everything was alright. Receptionist never wished us a good day, asked about the day we had had or seemed to want to engage with us. Our final bill included food and drinks we had not had.
