It was advertised that we could eat at the sister pub but we could not get in without a reservation and it was not mentioned at any point that we would need to reserve a table.

Room was nicely decorated, equipped with everything we needed and the bar was very friendly and cosy.

Add to the access instructions the name of the road where the car park is please and explain that you enter from the back as it took us ages to get in carrying heavy bags.

Spacious room. Spotlessly clean. Nice big shower. Added surprise of a complimentary breakfast. Such a nice touch. Lovely linen on bed. Great communal area and coffee machine although some guests don’t leave it as they should! Really impressed. Definitely stay there again. Easy access to car park. Perfect location. Some lovely touches for guests. Thank you.

Spacious, very clean, Fantastic staff, comfortable beds, free coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine, cereals/juice/yogurts and milk provided complimentary, quiet in the evening (even on a Saturday night and the pub was busy) perfect location for the zoo.

Great value for money. Lovely to have a fridge with cereal yoghurts and milk. The only downside was an unusual smell from the bathroom. The room was very comfortable and well equipped.

Noise when the beer barrels arrived at 8.30am.

We liked the self check in, the family room, modern and comfortable. We liked the location for South lakes zoo (5 mins away) and the beach (15 mins away). We loved the coffee/hot choc machine in the communal lounge!

Just a small negative that can’t be helped a lot of stairs especially if you’re the end room (6), not a massive issue but I would definitely pack a little lighter for my future stay, it has not put me off I will be back.

The rooms were very spacious and bed very comfortable, the breakfast was a lovely little touch (cereals and yoghurt) and the lounge was lovely. Brilliant location for the zoo.

A little bit of noise from neighbours one evening but not much.

The room was big and clean. The lounge area was a great place to relax and use the coffee machine and microwave for meals. The breakfast cereals were a nice surprise in the room.

Nothing to dislike at all. Very well thought out rooms and social area with a microwave and coffee/latte machine. Rooms were very modern and had all you needed. Was very impressed

The rooms were above the Red Lion pub and whilst they are self check in, I wasn’t sent the room code prior to arriving so it took a while for us to get in, with a lot of help from the bar staff. We were in room one which was ok when we were there but maybe not in the summer months as it was right at the front near the beer garden and room smoking area.

The rooms were very big and spacious. The bathroom was fully equipped and the beds were comfortable. I would book again

One very minor issue was the lack of a wash sink to wash up our dishes

The facilities were top notch, wonderfully decorated and appointed. Our family room was spacious and high quality. Free roji coffee machine was a bonus.

I have very limited mobility and although I knew it was stairs to get to accommodation I didn’t realise there were more stairs inside to get to our room and there was no banister to hold on too Otherwise thoroughly enjoyed our stay Room was clean beds were comfortable and staff very friendly

Was unsure how to exit in the morning before the pub was open.

It was well organised, although we didn’t use the private lounge, it was perfect for staying with a family. Our family room was spacious and had everything we needed. We loved that it had a fridge and breakfast items provided. The staff were very friendly.

If I had to pick one thing, that there was no hair dryer

Self check in was perfect, really easy to navigate. Room was lovely and clean, really lovely for an easy overnight stay. Was hesitant as it was above a pub but was really smart looking and modern. Room had everything you needed and more. My nephews liked that there was a fully stocked fridge which we didn't expect, cereal for a quick breakfast for them. Bedding was fresh, bathroom and shower was spotless. If staying in the lake district again would defo return
