The entry was in disrepair. There were leaks and stains and rubbish in the entry & hallway. We got a parking fine which we are contesting as we were told parking was free.

The room itself was clean and comfortable.

Lodge in need of upgrade. Entrance and halls were grubby and dated but rooms themselves were not too bad which reflects the price which we paid so reasonable.

The room was dirty, there was mold in the bathroom and everywhere was dusty and stained. Tea/coffee was ok but wasn't replenished for our second night. It was ok for what we needed but I wouldn't want to go again, it was a necessity rather than a nice break.

It was well located and had easy access to check in. Handy to have the garage so close to purchase anything needed. Car parking was included.

Concession prices for breakfast. Not much good just having a concession at Burger King when its CLOSED. How about a concession for Greggs and/or Starbucks

Very comfy bed. Good shower even though it was in the bath, so you had to climb in/out. Plenty of hot water and a good pressure. Accomodating staff. Pity about the false alarm fire alarm caused by someones bathroom door being open !!

Bed -springs stuck up through mattress Lots of water leakage into corridors from roof, and exposed electric cables from ceiling. Toilet room stunk! Place needs urgent attention! Must be the worse place in Wales. We would not recommend this place to anyone. Spoilt by neglectful ownership, by terribly ancient mattresses and poor plumbing. Shocking!

There were toenails on the bathroom floor. The bed was full of springs and very uncomfortable. I could hear doors slamming and people coming and going all night long.

The man at the spa was very friendly and approachable. Tea making facilities were a nice touch.

Read above as a whole !! Its all in the above essay, good and bad together. Much easier to critrique in that form as opposed the the good bits, bad bits as laid out here. Easier to make direct comparisons!

The hotel looked a little tired and univiting from the outside and the notice to check in at the SPAR was well out of date because Spar has gone and the check in is now at ASDA on the garage forecourt. However the lass on the check in was extremely helpful, polite and organised, even though we had to queue up with the shop customers to make our presence known!,, The mat at the front door has clearly seen better days and is a disgrace, however, once inside, the rooms themselves are spotless, roomy and very comfortable. The beds, pillows, duvet, prim and proper and well turned out. So spacious is the room that it even sports a two seater sofa as well as a chair. The bathroom is also spacious and well apointed with a bath for a nice soak with an overhead "rainfall" style shower head in the ceiling that positively drenches you in a healthy supply of hot water. No facilities in the hotel as such, but you get a discount at the forecourt Burger King as a guest and if that doesnt suit, there is a Greggs, Leon, Subway and Starbucks in a spacious service forecourt and plenty of spaced out seating. Conclusion: Dont judge a book by its cover. I'd stay again in a heartbeat, even if the TV did have its battery compartment cover missing, so the batteries fell out and as it was clearly streaming or satellite some channels pixelated badly.

You need to update the information on how to check in and where to collect keys from. There is no spar shop there it is a Asda filling station where you can check in .

There was a really bad smell of damp when you first get in, but it's just due to a leak in the corridor, the rooms are fine . Bed was solid, but can't complain for the price

The cleaning in both rooms no 4 an 9 was not gd , room 9, headboard dirty ,wardrobes, bedside tables, blinds thick with dust also wrotten tv no where had been wiped an cleaned . Bathroom tiles grout dirty an floor an bin wrotten . Room 4 big dirty stains on carpet , mirror wiped an left smeared couldn't actually see in it i had to clean, just generally in both rooms only had clean bedding very disappointing an could be a nice little place if cleaned !!

The room I was in was by the front door, the external door slammed every time anyone entered or left the building throughout the night, everynight! The bathroom sink was slow draining, the shower was too hot to stand under for long and controls were broken so you couldn't turn the temp down, the tile grout and sealant were stained and in desperate need of a proper clean. The mattress was lumpy - I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet

The instructions at the hotel for obtaining access to the facility are to collect a pass at the Spar. The nearest Spar is 5.7 miles away but no directions were given. I had to look at Google maps to find it. Any chance you could amend the signage to be a bit more helpful? Maybe I am a little unusual, but I booked the room to sleep, not to have a dry sauna. Upon entering the room I found the heating on full blast and the window firmly closed. Even in winter (there had been snow on the ground earlier in the day) and having opened the only opening the window as far as it would go and having switched the radiator off at the wall, it still took two hours for the room to become conducive to sleep. It was around 22:00 when I arrived. It's just as well I wasn't desperate for an early night.

The lady at reception (well, at the till in Asda) was most helpful and patient whilst I jabbered on about my unusual check-in requirements in difficult family circumstances, and I didn't even mention to her that there were any difficult circumstances.

I was ticketed for using the car parK! I'm in the process of appealing a £100 fine for using Raglan Lodges carpark as a guest. Somehow the checkin guy at Esso failed to enetr my car's reg into the system and Parkingeye sent me a ticket. So be aware of this!

Rooms are spacious, shower good pressure and abundant hot water.

Parking eye tried to fine me for overnight car parking- demanded £60! Make sure the garage staff register your car number correctly!!
