Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe beds are from ancient times.
There is no breakfast but close is a hotel that serves one. We liked that its close to the coast and the „Main town“. The seaguls are very noisy the whole night, but its for shure not the hotels fault. In the morning we woke up because of loud delivery trucks. We liked that there is free parking in the whole area. Its a lovely small town and a well cleaned hotel.

United KingdomApartment was at the top of 3 flights of stairs, and looked out onto rooftops. There were a few items missing from the kitchen, such as a kitchen knife of any kind, and a chopping board, only one bowl in the cupboard. The en suite was very small, and the window in the bedroom was faulty. It could benefit form a coat of paint too. There was a fair amount of noise from the pub below at night, but Lack of parking was the biggest issue for us though
Good location within walking distance of all amenities, friendly staff, bed was comfortable and the tea and coffee making facitities were welcome. The apartment was clean and tidy.

United KingdomHad to enter bar to get keys which was full of local drunks who wouldn’t leave me alone. There was a hole in the wall and the toilet door could not close so felt uncomfortable having a shower which was a shame as it was very hot.
Cheap, clean room with good WIFI. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Big car park round corner. Central location for Stonehaven.

United KingdomOK - as the other reviews say and as they point out when you book - there is a bar downstairs and Friday/Saturday nights you may as well go out and stay out. It's sooooooo loud you may as well be in the room with the singer/band. You will not get any sleep if you go to bed before 1am. That is a given. Stay somewhere else if you are going to Stonehaven at the weekend and don't want an incredibly loud party in your room. I read the reviews and thought "it will be fine, I don't mind a bit of bar noise etc" WRONG. It wasn't fine. There is absolutely NO SOUNDPROOFING at all. You can hear every word of every song and every tune as if you are sitting right next to the singer. Have never experienced this before after 40 years of staying in hotels. They must have the thinnest walls/floorboards/ceilings in the entire universe. I was so tired after two nights at the Queens I came home and had to go to sleep and slept all day!
For starters this is a lovely quaint old hotel in a brilliant location in Stonehaven. Just across the road from the beach and right in the town. I feel like the Queens has been there forever. It is not modern and it is not trendy. It's an old fashioned hotel in a seaside town. Stonehaven is lovely when the weather is nice. You can walk up to the Castle, go to the beach or go to the Open Air Swimming Pool in the summer. I only saw the young man at the bar when I checked in to get my key - never saw any other people so can't really comment on the staff. There is no breakfast provided with your booking so I didn't interact with anyone. Kettle and tea/coffee etc is provided. Room 4 was very nice. Up one flight of stairs. Clean and adequate storage. The furniture is old but fine - all sheets and towels were fine. There is a sliding door into bathroom with shower. You can open the bedroom window if you manage to reach over behind the TV. There are some SKY channels to watch if you fancy a bit of telly.
