How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

I had no problems with the property.
Comfortable and convenient for the places I wanted to visit. Close to the tram stop and in a quiet neighbourhood.

Location is good. Just 5-7 minutes to the tram stop. There is a convenient store (with post office) close to the tram stop.

The room is not very clean, so if you care about that you should probably search for something else.
Great choice for a solo traveler. I wasn't able to find anything better within this price range. The location is pretty good, very close to a Metrolink station and if you like to walk you can reach the city center within an hour. It's a quiet residential area, had no trouble falling asleep. The owner is nice and helpful. There's a kettle, a toaster, some teas, cups, cutlery, cosmetics... lots of stuff which you don't have to bring with you.

There was nothing I could fault. Spotlessly clean, brilliant hot shower and all the facilities I needed. The door handle was a little complicated at first, but that was just me being a dim - so I can't complain. Once I had figured it out it was easy as pie!
Had everything I needed for a comfortable short stay for work. Communication with the host was excellent making accessing the property a doddle. Under 5 minutes to walk to the metrolink stop. Also, only one stop away from Chorlton or a 10 minute walk. Will 100% stay again, thank you for having me.

There was no time for check in told, so i moved there around 13 o clock to ask anybody there. As i arrived, i already had the code for the door via message, so i could get into it. I saw that the flat was still used, with dirty sheets and towels and trash in the bin and what catched my eye was a big hole in the pillowcase. I called the owner, after 3 times i could reach him. He told me that the cleaning staff would clean the room at 2pm and i would be too early, but i could leave my luggage there and come back later, so i did. I went back there at like 17:00 and there were still the dirty sheets and a wet towel in the flat. It was the exact same used bedding, with the same hole in the pillowcase and the bed was full of hairs and smelly. The rubbish bin had been emptied, so clearly somebody has had to have been there, but clearly none of the bedding or towels were changed. There was a towel lying on the Bed that was still wet and smelled. Perhaps the cleaning person thought, that he/she didn't have to change because the same guest would stay or something like this, but nonetheless it's unacceptable for me to sleep in a used bed full of hair and use a used smelly towel. (side note: when I arrived, the door wasn't even locked, so I'm glad my luggage was still there.) I tried to reach the owner many times (nobody is around there) an wrote him, but to this day, i still couldn´t reach him and got NO answer at all. I contacted booking, but they also couldn´t reach anyone at all. We tried for hours and i waited till late night if there would anyone come or call me, but nothing happened, so on advise of booking, i had to get a new hotel in Manchester at the same night, because i won´t be sleeping in a used bed and dirty flat. We could have sorted this easily with just clean bedding and towels, but it's a shame there is no one not reachable at a time like 5 pm when renting a room, I am expecting a full refund of my money.
