71 steps to reception, also, a couple nights there were very loud drunk guys in the halls and nobody to corral them.

Check out is a little early at 10, but they allow your belongings to stay at the reception until 12 at night.It would be great if there were room facilities with a private toilet and if it was a little more affordable, but we may have made our reservation a little late, thank you. :)

The hostel was much cleaner than I expected. We booked a private room for 3 friends. They gave us a room with 3 bunk beds, a sweet window, 6 beds, 6 cupboards and a table on the attic floor. The insulation is very good, even the curtains are clean and there is no dust. The shared bathroom and toilet were always very clean. I guess there weren't many people using the attic rooms bathroom anyway. We went on May 10-12, Edinburgh and the hostel were great.The kitchen was also a clean space with sufficient items. people were very helpful and sweet. We did not experience the breakfast. Hostel is in the center of the city. we walk everywhere.You can take the airlink bus directly from the airport and get off at Princess Street. You will easily find the hostel by walking for 5 minutes.

It was very quiet when I was there. But seeing the amount of rooms and the facilities ( bathrooms, kitchen, lounge) I'm not sure if there enough if the hostel is very busy. The bed was not as comfortable as I had hoped. There was a bathroom across from my room but there was no hot water. There was hot water in the other bathrooms

I spent 4 nights in the hostel and 3 of them I had the dorm room for myself. Room was big enough. Good big lockers to put my luggage in. Everything was very clean. Good kitchen, also oil and spices free to use. I didn't have to pay for renting a towel. The location is perfect. Just between the train station and busstation. Old town as well as new town are in walking distance. It was very easy to leave my bag for a few hours after check out

You need to have some luck with the hospitality of your roommates if you want to have a good nights rest. Also several showers seemed out service, however I never experienced any queues

Good value for money (on the days I was there). Good location in the city center and great kitchen facilities (even though I didn't make use of it) make it a great choice to stay when in Edinburgh on a budget

It’s on the fourth floor with stairs no elevator. If you have a big luggage, i may not recommend this place or you can store it somewhere at luggage storage service or at the train station.

our room had wooden windows that did not shut hermetically so there was a draft of cold air coming in the room the whole time. although they provided an electric heater it was small and did not managed to keep the room warm. so i stayed inside with all my clothes on. they have this policy of having no food or alcohol in the room but to leave it all in the kitchen. and i understood it but still i did not go all the way to the kitchen for a piece of chocolate in the middle of the night.

Just keep in mind that there is no lift and the hostel is on the last two floors of the building.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they also let us leave our luggage before/after our check in/out. The location is perfect, very close to the city centre and to the train station. In addition, if you want to enjoy a pint of beer there is a very nice pub just next to it!

It was advertised but the fact that its all the way up the stairs really hits you when you’re coming back after a full day out and the showers did not get warm for me 2 out of the 3 times I tried to shower

I had a guest staying in the bed below me and she kept hitting me through the mattress. I thought this very rude. This is not a reflection on the hostel, but on the guest.

Sometimes the kitchen could be chaotic, but it's fine.
