There was some peeling paint in the bathroom, but it didn't bother us.

We booked a room with two single beds and a private bathroom. The beds were comfy, and the room was very clean. We got exactly what we wanted for a great value. Everything we wanted was within walking distance, and the staff was fabulous. We also bought an a la carte breakfast in the morning that was VERY reasonable.

A small kitchen for the size of the Backpackers.

A good sized room with ensuite. Beds were comfortable and there was a nice view of Pitlochry Main Street - very central. Very friendly and helpful manager.

I had stayed here before, so nice to see standards had been maintained. I was on a LEJOG cycling trip and right on NCR. In town centre so easy for restaurants and bars etc. Safe storage for bike and friendly staff. Nice friendly common room too with free tea and coffee.

Bad ventilation in the room, even though the window was open. One guest in the room had hiked and since there wasn’t a room to dry the sweaty clothes he needed to do it in the room and thereafter the whole room smelled bad.. :(( so not his fault but maybe it would be a good idea to have a drying room or similar Only 2 toilettes so it became quite crowded in the bathroom and also just 1 sink in the kitchen.

Besides the fact that it is a hostel, so shared rooms/bathroom facilities (but people know this already), one can have pretty much no reasons to complain, I liked it very much! The only minus I can mention is the beds could have been slightly bigger, and it would have been nice to have a few hangers to put some stuff on in the room, but those are minor points.

This was my first stay at a hostel, and was way better than I expected! Yes, it is not a hotel, I missed having my own shower/toilets and the room for myself, but the other people in the room turned out awesome (big shout to Dave and Andy, and Jack the next day!), and we helped each other with kit, advice and energy supplies before the race. The room was clean, there were enough sockets, there was always a free shower and it was right across from our room. Also, big plus were the sheds where we could store our bikes before the race! I didn't try the breakfast, as I was too nervous to eat, but my roommates said it was quite decent. The staff were all lovely, particularly the woman who was on reception the morning/day of the race itself, and Beca who was one of the most interesting and friendliest people I have chatted with for a long time 🌟 The location is perfect both to explore Pitlochry and also to rake part in Etape Caledonia, I just took my bike out of the sheds and in less than 5 minutes I was in my starting pen, ready to go! Overall, very satisfied, I would probably still avoid hostels in general as I do strongly prefer having my own room and bathroom facilities, but I won't be staunchly opposed to ever staying in one again, and if I return to Pitlochry, will definitely book a bed there again! 🫡

Reception was advertised as being open until 10:30pm however I arrived at 10:05 and was lucky to be able to get into the building and get checked in.

Showers were great and warm. Beds were comfy. Great location close to centre of town. Lounge area has a free pool table. Free tea/coffee/hot chocolate is nice. Well equipped kitchen facility.

Only downside was the dent in the mattress. It felt like sleeping on a slope. This was in a private room. Actually, come to think of it, pigeons woke me up in the morning. I thought it was a phone buzzing in the adjacent room, but later it appeared to be a bunch of what I think were pigeons. Nonetheless, could recommend.

Practically everything was great. Facilities super clean, the staff nice. There were some people in the common area, so I imagine you could meet people there. Location is superb in the center of Pitlochry.

Sadly there were rather a lot of very noisy people rather early in the morning near the kitchen this time which was not ideal really as the room I had was just beside it 😞

Fabulous place to stay in Pitlochry! I use this accommodation at least three or four times a year. The staff are lovely, it’s right in the centre of Pitlochry, very clean, great value for money and all round just a great place to stay. I’d highly recommend it!

There was some water damage in the bathroom and the carpet in the room was quite worn, so overall the room looked a bit run down.

Location was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the place had a really nice atmosphere. Shower had good pressure and there was plenty of hot water. Bed was comfy with fresh linens.

Friendly staff, great communal area to sit in and have cup of tea or bring in your own food. Safe place to store bicycles given. Excellent location. Liked the no noise policy after 10.30pm as nice and quiet.

We stayed for 2 nights and loved the atmosphere in the hostel, had a very nice lounge area with games and pool table. The staff were really friendly and made us feel at homel, even recommended us some places to eat out in the Pitlochry. It is located on the high street as well which was great because all the cafes are just a few steps away. We'll definitely be coming back again :)
