How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The town it’s self
The owned is very friendly and helpful. We stayed here as we had just got off the ferry from Ireland and didn’t want to dive but want a good night’s rest. The B &B has its own restaurant and I highly recommend it. There has not been many places in the UK I would recommend to eat but this is one! The town doesn’t offer much apart from Barbershops and takeaway.

The towels were a bit meagre, but I understand that lovely fluffy white towels get spoilt, so it's best to have cheaper ones if guests are going to be unreasonable!
We arrived late and we were made welcome and food was prepared for us almost immediately.

Room a little small but fine for an overnight stay.
Good location close to ferry for Dublin. Very friendly B&B with evening meals available and licensed. Relaxed atmosphere and a nice garden for sunny evenings. Complimentary drink was a nice touch especially after a long drive.

Fabulous place. Nice cosy bar area, super comfy bed, great shower and absolutely fantastic food and drink. TJ was a really good host and looked after us throughout. Thanks for making our stay so nice.

The only thing was that the bathroom was a bit tight, but it was very clean and functional.
The Orient was very accommodating by letting us drop off our bags early. The entire facility was very clean, breakfast was great, and everyone was friendly.

Nothing. It was a lovely little 2 night break.
Warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble for her to help me. Very clean, lovely food, lovely little sun trap on the garden.

The room is quite small, between the rooms it could be a little bit noisy

That I only booked for one night.
Very nice B&B with a extremely nice host, great optional dinner for a very fair price (don‘t go anywhere, try the fried noodles), and a good breakfast. I’m really looking forward to coming back anytime soon.

Friendly atmosphere, hospitality and flexibility, got good advice where to go walking, delicious food in the restaurant. Beautiful, clean and light rooms. Excellent shower, water was hot!

We walked uphill to the property, it is approximately 1 km from the train centre, so best get a cab if your fitness level is low or you have a lot of bags.
The hostess was amazing, the beds were comfortable, the food at the restaurant attached to the b&b was so yummy and all the other extras were very lovely.

I could not fault anything.
T.J. is a great host, very welcoming and friendly. My room was nice with a very comfortable bed. I also had an evening meal which was delicious.

It was a very good stay at Orient B&B at Holyhead. My train arrived late in the evening and I in advance received information on how I could check-in by myself, which worked very well. Breakfast was very good. T.J. is a very friendly host, and I really enjoyed my stay.

TJ the host is wonderful (even loaning our kids a scooter for a play in a nearby park). Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant downstairs. Highly recommend!

Orient B&B is a 10 minutes walk away from the Holyhead train station and ferry terminal. It's a good starting point to explore the coast and the mountain of Holy Island. The room was really large for a B&B, comfortable, clean, and equipped with quite a large desk, so it is even a good place to do some work if you need to! Plus, the lounge area is very cosy and comfortable, and you can get tea, coffee, small snacks and drinks on a honesty basis at any time. Orient B&B is one of the most agreeable accomodations I ever had on the British Isles.
