The water pressure is very low in the kitchen but you just need to wait a little longer for the basin/kettle/whatever to fill. It was fine in the bathroom as a pump had been installed, and that goes off whenever water is run which is a bit noisy. But that's the compromise for having a decent shower and we could live with that. It IS an old building with old building issues and the fabric of the building is in need of some maintenance. However, there was nothing that impacted our comfort in the apartment - the sash windows may be weathered and single glazed but they still work and a squint socket or creaky floor shouldn't spoil anyone's holiday!

Good location, easy to find, easy to park, lovely sea view. Apartment was warm, kitchen well equipped and everything was very clean. The bedding and towels were good quality. There were extras provided like toiletries, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, tinfoil, tea and coffee sachets etc. The host had thought about everything that might be needed and I think the apartment offered excellent value for money. The wifi worked fine for us - sometimes slow but that's to be expected in an island location. Local information leaflets and clear instructions about the apartment were provided. There was a large garden area with seating/dining furniture and a washing line you could use if required. The host was available to contact by mobile, though we didn't need to.

The driveway was a bit iffy with stones at the side. Cars are much bigger and wider now and reversing while trying to avoid stones was a bit tricky. The bed was a tad lumpy but not the worst we've slept in.

Location was ideal. Close to Rothesay and, in spite of being near a busy road, was remarkably quiet. Furnishings were lovely and well thought out - including a dressing table in the bedroom and full length mirror which so many property owners overlook for some reason. We ladies like to use a dressing table.

It was April and still cold and there was an issue with clunky noisy radiators, which was addressed very quickly but left part of the flat a bit cold. Mornings we needed to use the extra heater, and the main room heated up quickly. The main annoyance was the TV. We couldn't get mainstream TV working. Only wifi streaming. And if one of the children used wifi the TV went off. With young children weren't going anywhere in the evening and TV is important.

We stayed 4 nights in the ground floor Kerrycroy bay apartment. I'm disabled and the ground floor suited my needs. However there were a few steps up into the apartment and into each bedroom. Not too problematic although I feel this should be mentioned in the description.  The location here is good. Right on the seafront and there are bus stops also just outside for the car-less. The island bus service is great with a half hourly service to Rothesay and shops, hourly round to the amazing Ettrick Bay.  The apartment is generally nice. Very clean. Overall I was happy. The kitchen is great and fully equipped for self catering a family. Bedrooms comfortable although we were a bit short of pillows and bedding as my daughter chose to sleep in the twin room with the two children meaning we had to use the fold down bed.

The swing and slide set in the garden is well used and now needing replaced as bits are missing making it a unsafe. We found the apartment a little cold at night. This led to condensation on the windows in the morning. We were able to deal with this by opening windows, wiping etc, but in the longer term windows will need addressed. Although undesirable, it didn't affect our stay and we have booked up again already.

A perfect location for our family to explore the local area on foot and bikes. We loved seeing the ferry coming into port from our window. The area is quiet and close to a shop and swing park. We have already booked to come back in July and October! Great communication and welcome from hosts, Lynn and her husband. Great value for money, the apartmen5 has everything you need!

The central heating went off on occasion and had to be 'rebooted' by the owners as it relies on wi-fi. They did this as soon as we contacted them. The statement that "this apartment features a washing machine" is misleading. There is no washing machine in the apartment. It is located in a garden shed and is presumably for all the apartments to use. The tumble dryer was out of use. We had to dry clothes on a flimsy rack we found in the shed. Not a great way to spend a rainy Saturday evening with the heating going down at the same time.

1 Marine Place is superbly located less than a mile from the ferry port and town at Rothesay. We stayed in the ground floor Scalpsie Bay apartment which was large, comfortable, well furnished, attractively decorated and had great sea views from both bedroom and dining / living room. The bed was very good. The separate bathroom had a modern shower. Parking was easy and convenient.

A grand villa by the sea divided into large,comfortable apartments with bigger than expected living area. Superb sea views across to the mainland and down to Rothesay harbour about a mile away. Buses into & away from town can be caught a minutes walk away. All the facilities you could possibly need are provided for in the apartments and everything is immaculately clean.Our hosts kept in contact before & on arrival to make sure everything was ok
