I paid for a castle view room, but could barely see it. Only a very small view. Not worth the extra money.

Great location, short walk to the grassmarket and royal mile, lots places to stop for food and drink. Room was quiet, large and walk in shower was good. Bed and pillows comfortable. Food in restaurant downstairs was good.

Well the TV worked the first night but then quit. And the street noise was pretty loud. So absolutely no sleep the second night. They street noise starts at 4:00am.

The kids loved breakfast . The staff are very very helpful and friendly ready to assist at every question. The before, oh man, so thankful for a firm bed. I would absolutely go back to this hotel but if possible get a room away from the street noise

Our stay was for two nights. We did not get our room serviced after our first night. So no towels, clean glasses or cups. This was very disappointing when we arrived back at 5 pm I complained to reception who bought up linen but no clean glasses crockery. Sadly that was the only. Thing that didn't go right

Large room on 1st floor. Pool and gym were great nice to have a swim indoors after a busy day. On site parking was good. Although limited. Restaurant and staff were very good.

Room too hot, no option of aircon despite changing climate as a warmer country. Make up bed didn't have a header so pillows kept falling off during the night. Kids in swimming pool disrupting and messing about dangerously, same in the gym, unsupervised. Prefer pool open later into evening after 10pm to accommodate those wanting a quiet swim, avoiding noisy kids. Or no kids after a certain time. Tv guide was difficult to operate, sluggish, some no signal. WiFi was not available for a whole evening but not a game changer for us. Would have liked more bottled water, in room especially for the younger one who doesn't drink hot drinks.

Room, bed comfortable and clean. Plenty of towels. Love separate shower and bath. Pressure was good, temp good. TV was big Lighting options were great. Great make up bed for young one, size a plus. Calling reception from room was good and the service for this. Pool and gym was a nice additional feature, towels and shower facilities made it feel more luxury. Friendly, polite staff. Very helpful Reception both on the phone and in person. If they couldn't answer immediately, they called our room back.

    * The food. We ordered a few things from the restaurant to the room, and the quality was mediocre, which was disappointing for the price. * Swimming pool area: we did not like at all having to go to the lobby - so in full view of anyone there - to reach the pool. It was disagreeable, we had to get fully dressed to go down to the swimming pool/jacuzzi/sauna area, then fully dressed again, which was a hassle. We would have liked to be able to access that area via a less public access so we could go wearing a robe for example. Also very disagreeable, the jacuzzi was over-chlorinated, so much so that it made our eyes cry, it was uncomfortable enough to make me not go to the pool area at all, even if having a pool was one of the big criteria that made us choose this hotel.

The bedroom was very spacious, as was the bathroom, and the bed was comfortable. The location is ideal, close to the centre and with a tourist bus stop close by. The staff was kind and helpful. The breakfast was good and enough.

I would have liked better gf foods.

The hotel was everything we hoped for and more. I am Coeliac and would have liked more gluten free options. There was just 2 types of cereal and white bread. Not a great selection but i managed. I saw man using the toaster for gf people and felt it unsafe using it after. I did not mention it to staff as man seemed quite unapproachable. Otherwise my 2 sons loved their breakfast, wonderful selection for them.

Having previously stayed in this hotel we decided to stay again, but this time having our dog with us and being put in a “dog” room was definitely not as comfortable or good value for money. The room was also smaller.
