We had paid for breakfast yet, it was rather lacking. I understand a continental breakfast is something that is offered any many places now yet, a cooked breakfast really should have been offered. On our final day, there were no boiled eggs as the chief had called in ill, does it really take a qualified person to boil an egg?

Well furnished and decorated and exceptionally clean

The lack of elevator even though the stairs are pretty and only three stories for the top floor. The hotel is divided into two or three adjacent buildings, which make you touch the street to get to the bar or have breakfast

The building is beuatiful and shows a good maintenance job. We got a wonderful view from our room on top of the city to the north side. Good location in new town, nonetheless it was a few blocks away from the hot spot of Queen o Princess streets

We were 3 people in the room two double beds prepared, not much space left to move around. The breakfast was OK continental...but every day the same, not the smallest variation. Maybe other fruits, of other joghurt...after 4 days the same was a little bit too long.

The room size would be perfekt for two people, the bathroom was very nice big and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

A shame that there was no cooked breakfast as the chef was ill. A lingering smell in the bathroom that seemed to smell like the sewer coming from the drains.

The hotel room was great, comfy and clean. The jacuzzi bath was amazing.

Unfortunately there is no restaurant service on Monday nights but there are a few restaurants and takeaways a short walk away.

A very warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere. My room was fantastic, well decorated and so comfortable, with everything I needed and more. Beautiful architecture and setting.

There is not lift in the property (not much they can do as it is a listed building). The staff were great, carried our bags up, but just worth noting.

Great location in the city centre, really close to Stockbridge - there is a lovely farmers market on Sunday's. The room was a good size and very comfortable.

It didn’t bother me but there was no lift and I was on the top floor. It was quite expensive but it was the first week in December

It has a lot of character and even through decoration the hotel have managed to maintain that

    Bathroom was small, small windows

Well, it's not for anyone. We were place at the attic, it was fantastic, the way up there, is narrow around the stairs like a secret room. was isolated, was big enough for a family, the view was good, the light was dimmbar, there was a refrigerator, big TV, wi-fi was enough

Unique hotel with bed & breakfast feel on quiet street in Edinburgh!

Parking is on the street and the kiosk where you pay wasn’t working so I had some fear of getting a ticket. I would suggest the hotel invest in some parking permits so guests don’t have to worry.

Nira Caledonia has a bed and breakfast feel while behaving as a full service hotel. It’s on a quiet street and a bit of an uphill walk to where the pubs and shops are but it’s also easy to get a taxi. We had 2 rooms for our family and each one had its own personality and was beautifully decorated. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and everyone on the staff was very welcoming and accommodating.

Breakfast was average, we probably could have gotten a better breakfast somewhere nearby. Accommodation was top class but expensive, I suppose that’s to be expected when Bruce Springsteen is in town

Location was excellent, quiet residential street very near city centre with a great selection of cafes, restaurants and bars

The location of my room (6/11) meant it was very noisy inside the hotel at night and morning. I could hear the reception the whole time and there was alot of through traffic. Combine that with a hard mattress (I know that's personal preference) and flat, hard pillows (inexcusable!). I slept pretty badly.

Lovely hotel. Gorgeous breakfast. Small room, but what I expected for "wee single". Lovely sized bathroom and shower. Staff were excellent.
