décor was dated and in places quite rough around the edges problem with midges due to close proximity of the river and cleaning was made a bit of a nightmare from them. first impressions we had a restaurant booking and got held up, tried ringing all afternoon and left a message to ring me and got no response. so arrived late lad behind bar apologised to us unlike the restaurant staff who didn't seem to bothered. room was dated bit disappointed had a bath instead of shower but partly our fault for not requesting one. think parts had been updated so maybe a work in progress

food was amazing, service was good lovely to see so many young staff with a good work ethic quite rare these days all the staff were v friendly had a good laugh with lad behind bar (not sure of his name)

We were slightly disappointed that the pool was only available for children between 4-6pm. Considering we arrived at 4:30pm and was only permitted to check in from 3pm onwards, staying for one night meant you didn’t have too much time to check in, unload the car and take the kids swimming. Fortunately, we were able to take the kids swimming but only for a short period due to the time restrictions.

The food was amazing, the location is beautiful and the staff were really helpful and friendly contributing towards a successful stay overall.

Hotel room very outdated, needs a good renovation. Furniture very standard, paint work chipped not worth the amount we paid for two nights.

Very central location to visit venues we had planned.

The towels had a overly strong smell of prawn crisps. Can I suggest a 'do not disturb' sign for guests who want to lie in past 9am.

The food was excellent, the room was good. The pool and sauna were clean and accessible. The staff were very nice, cheerful and went out of their way to help whenever needed. Location was fantastic, parking was fine and the bar was friendly and welcoming

Small room, uncared for, fixtures and fittings need to be addressed. In the bathroom, the toilet roll holder was hanging off, and eventually fell off; there was no towel rail or indeed any hooks in the entire room; the toilet seat was unstable;the seal around the bath was lifting and unpleasant; the sink waste was rusty; the floor covering was rising by the bath, probably contributing to the musty damp smell in the bathroom .

The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming. The garden area was lovely, the location was superb, the food was outstanding, and it was very reasonably priced. The pool was lovely, and we were allowed access before checking in. The facial I had was lovely.

My partner is vegetarian, we looked on the website before booking and the menu options seemed to be reasonable, however when we received the menu on the evening it was different, and there could be a far better variety of choices, the roasted cabbage was literally half a cabbage sat on top of a bed of lentils (it was a lot of cabbage). We would book again but would ring before to check the menu as believed this needs some work.

Setting was beautiful, facilities were fantastic, staff were lovely, room was clean and comfortable.

After food you could go and sit in the top bar area and people are having food in there aswell as the restaurant. There's not alot to do in the evenings, we asked if we could put the TV on for some music which the staff was happy to do so for us. Last orders were around 10.30. It would be nice if they had the top area for some quiet music or entertainment for guests who's staying at the hotel.

It's a beautiful setting. The pool area was clean and tody. The sauna and steam room were perfect. We had an evening meal booked at 7.30 so we didn't want a big meal in the day so they had a cream tea/coffee as the restaurant shut at 3pm. The food was beautiful and the service was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful.

The mimimal provision! No dressing gowns or towels provided for guests for use at the Spa. I checked with reception-£5 charge each for dressing gowns because "they get stolen"! So we had to walk the corridor to the Spa with towels from our room wrapped round us, then after a swim, had to use a wet towel to have a hot shower back in our room before dinner. Surely they could just charge a deposit or ask guests to return them at check-out? This felt so mean and spoilt the stay. The Spa pool was bare and more like a cheap town swimming pool. A few plants or decoration may have made it feel more special. The pool tiling was old and dirty looking especially around the jacuzzi. For the amount I paid per night, I expected a lot better than what we got. Breakfast was adequate-when you got served. But overstretched staff, however polite, meant that they didn't get the buffet food out for the start of the session and on the 2nd day, was very limited. The hotel is the only one in that area, and that obviously makes them feel they don't need to make any effort!

Very friendly staff and beautiful location

The Bar and restaurant area needs a bit of character put into it, we sat int he Bar and it was a bit drab. The room wasnt great im afraid. The bed was uncomfortable, seemed to dip in the middle with lumpy sides. The room was very clean, however the decor is dated, there was no shower, just an adaption to the bath, the bath had a chip in it, the taps were slightly broken, the flooring was coming up in the bathroom and we almost burnt ourselves on the hot tap. I understand times are very difficult at the moment, but it needs some paint, and some TLC.

All of the Staff were very friendly and lovely, and the food was so nice. The Welsh Breakfast was very tasty, used good quality local ingredients. We had Scallops to start which were cooked to perfection. My partner had the Cod which was so succulent and full of flavour with a good portion. I had the monkfish which was a little over and the portion of the overall dish was small for the price, but the taste was lush! We didnt use the pool area but it looked nice from outside!

Booked suite 34 , curtains were filthy, there was pen all up the wall ( things like this i don't normally notice but they were right in front of you as you walked in) bathroom was also mouldy and as the tiles were white this stands out a mile. Been here a few times and never had any thing to grumble about just needs updating. Dining area also needs some attention.

All food was amazing, amazing staff an facilities too. The issue is with the look of the place nothing a lick of paint and some TLC couldn't fix.
