How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Lovely hotel, clean and really good facilities. Was especially kind for the manager to move his car so that we could park our car free of charge.

We only stayed 1 night and didn't arrive until late. We didn't have access. However, we rang Brendan, and he kindly gave us the access codes. He was a very friendly and helpful host. The hotel is in a great location, the building and decor were dated, and the onsuite was a little small. however, for the price, I was happy with the cleanliness of the family room, and the beds were very comfortable.

Everything was good, we was in the family room and the bunk beds kept creaking! But nothing else wrong,

Unfortunately the room was very small but I understand that cannot be helped.
Very friendly bloke, was very welcoming and was happy to do a late check in for us. The room was perfectly clean and the bed was comfortable.

The shower wasn’t ideal for us (next to our room) but there was another wash room which we didn’t use so there is an alternative to use
Great welcome even have our Snoop Dog a Birthday 🥳 present, very kind of Brendan excellent host and great Location, any place that treat my dog as good as us in one place I will always stay, room good size for us.

Bathroom was very small but not a problem and didn't detract from the trip in any way at all. Delighted with the value and cleanliness, would visit again.

No bin in the bedroom ,grubby walls in the bedroom! The curtain didn't block out the light and no bedside lamp Shared toilet and shower ...wasn't advertised and should've been cleaner.
The bed was very comfortable, The padded headboard made it easier to use the TV. Shower pressure was very good and the temperature was good! Lots of toilet paper Kettle ect in room Check in was quick, man was very friendly

The room we were in was adjacent to the shared bathroom and the door was off kilter so very noisy opening and closing when trying to sleep.
It was handy for walking into Blackpool and the owner was very nice and helpful.

There wzs nothing that stood out
There was no food included the host was charming couldnt do enough for us.even offered to go to the shops for us .the hotel was basic but that was relected in the price

Bed smelt a bit stale, i thought maybe you not used the room for a while, but when i woke up found what looked like dog hair... But for the price of the room my expectations were not high., Unlike most people i can allow things to slide.

Brendan, the manager, was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble! Good location for getting to the tower. Nice and clean rooms. The kids loved it!

having no where to hang clothes and no milk or coffee in room but clean beds but couldn’t walk upstairs so gave me room with smaller bed so basically both nights got no sleep

Great bloke accepted us within 30 minutes of ringing from a dump of a b&b will stay again dog friendly and loads of room right next to the beach ⛱️
