The strong smell of stale smoke in much of the house. The room itself has been freshly decorated (I think), although there is still a slight smell. Also the shower is not great.

Very convenient location, decent room, no fuss.

I didn't like the value for money. Too expensive in my view for what is offered. There was a strange smell in every room that was available to the guest. The accommodation was not very hygienic either.

John was a friendly host and made me feel at home in his house. He even offered to accept an early check-in. The location of the accommodation is excellent, and the bed is quite acceptable.

The bed! You could feel the springs, and the sheets are scratchy. We brought our own breakfast so I don't know about the breakfast. There was a lingering odor of cigarette smoke

John let us in early, which was terrific. And it is so close to the walls that it is an easy walk to the city center

Kitchen cleanliness didn't quite meet my expectations, but there were a few packed and sealed snacks available which was a good compromise.

John was very friendly and helpful. The room was good and clean, the bed was very comfy. The location was excellent, very close to the city wall / south gate.

Great location to the centre of town and only 15 minute walk to both train and bus stations. John was awesome, really flexible with our arrival time which we really appreciated! Basic necessities provided (milk, butter, tea, coffee, cereal) which was great. Room was perfect, we had a lovely stay. Also great proximity to some great fish and chips just around the corner!

If you value cleanliness a lot you might not like it as much as we did. But for such a low price, the level of cleanliness was adequate.

John is a great host and the location of the house is excellent. The value for money was also very good.

It would have been nice to have our own bathroom. The bed was not comfortable and didn't smell or look clean.

John was very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to meet us when we arrived. He had lots of interesting local knowledge. He left lots of nice breakfast food too. The place was ever so handy to the city. Very short walking distance to the walls.

from our experience, the place smells cigarette from the time you gets in the house, John the owner he smokes. Then he will sprayed air freshener, it make it worst. he will blame the guest. Thick dust and dirts on sides of the floors (see picture) that is in our room. Bathroom shower drainer doesn’t drain well. All the guest and the owner use the same bathroom. this is B&B got high review and how?

Room B Likes: location, big room, plenty of street parking.

Pervasive cigarette smell and uncomfortable bed

The smell of cigarettes is everywhere - very strong in all shared areas, and while slightly better in the bedrooms, still in and on everything making it impossible to ignore. Sad to say, the bed was one of the worst I’ve slept in - lumpy, old springs, thin worn pillows with well worn linen that smelled of cigarette smoke. Unfortunately this made it almost impossible for me to sleep. The bathroom is very ‘lived in’, and the quality of towels, sheets etc feels more like the old spare stuff a friend would pull out for you when staying over than what I’d expect somewhere I’m paying to stay.

Decent location, and John was friendly and welcoming into what is more a shared house than a B&B. Relatively cheap
