How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the plates and the cutlery were not cleaned properly unfortunately. It was hair on some of the plates and some stains on the cutlery. There was also a little dead spider in its web in one of the windows, which could’ve been removed. There was lacking sugar for tea and coffee, which should’ve been refilled before a gusts arrival. In the dresser it was a lot of plastic waste and hair laying around. Not pleasant if some guests want to use it for longer stays. It should’ve been cleaned. But apart from that, everything else was good.
Very welcoming host, super sweet and helpful to guide me through check in. Great neighbors as well, she was super quick to help when requested on heating. Keep in mind it can get very cold on the floor since it’s in the basement, bring slippers/indoor shoes as its no floor heating. Overall a calm neighborhood away from the noise in central.

Can hear all footsteps and noise from above and the mattress is a little firm
Has all the facilities needed for a short stay and is close to Alexandra Palace (the reason for our trip) either a 8 pound Uber or bus stop right outside the property

Excellent location for a trip to Alexandra Palace. Great transport links to Central London with a bus stop opposite the property. Lovely and welcoming host.

We stopped for provisions on route, but it would have been nice just to have had some milk for a cuppa on arrival. We may have been a bit dim over the TV but couldn’t access much, which didn’t spoil anything as we didn’t have the need for the tv really. Everything was fine.
Everything was as the photos, the host was easy to communicate with. The flat was lovely, clean, comfy and well equipped. The bus stop was nearby and the tube wasn’t too far, if you don’t mind a walk. We had a great stay and enjoyed an event at Alexandra Palace, brilliant, thank you.

The studio is bellow the owners property and the ceiling is very thin. We could hear every footstep from above early. It sounded like lots of kids thumbing and playing. Not something that would normally bother me as I am a mother and usually I’m an early riser but we booked away from the kids and had a late-ish night and would have preferred a lay in which wasn’t possible with the noise. Just something to note as it was very loud.
Host was very accommodating and friendly although we never met. Was very polite and helpful on the phone. The accommodation has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable.

Great location.I stayed here for a week.Grocery shops are nearby so we can get our stuff & cook our own meals.The room was spacious.Owners are super friendly.Wifi had a good speed as I did some office work from my room.Overall a great place & owners are very friendly.

There was no easy way to hold the blinds open to let some more natural light in.
It was a good location- very quiet and the space was very comfortable and clean. Everything that we needed was provided.

WiFi connection was weak. Security light was not fully functioning on arrival, mentioned to host and assured would remedy this malfunction. Lovely shower room but could be warmer as towel rail not sufficient to heat size of room.
Apartment self contained, own side entrance. Very clean and well decorated. Quiet location but very accessible for transport links and shops. Host very pleasant and welcoming. Apartment provides adequate cooking facilities i.e cooker, pots etc. Would certainly recommend to friends and definitely stay here again.

lovely little place to stay, approximately 15 minute walk to the tube station, taxis and buses a plenty. we chose this property as we were off to Alexandra Palace for an event which was a short taxi ride (albeit could’ve got the bus). Really wonderful host. would definitely stay there again

Facility was not clean. The towel radiator was very dusty and there were bits of dirt (including hair) lying about, possibly from previous occupants.
Friendly host. It was not too expensive.
