Unfortunately sleep wasn’t the best, the double bed was 2 together; held together with only a topper and came apart by morning and the pillows were lumpy. The divans were in need of maintenance or new ones I thought the elasticated valances covered up the issues of the divans need of maintenance. The reception was busy on leaving day for us to bring this up.

Great location, spa facilities, reasonably price parking. great breakfast and bar/restaurant facilities, the staff were nice and the ‘maid’ was friendly and helpful

Our room was on the small side and the en suite bathroom tiny. Drinks at the bar rather expensive, we payed almost £20 for two glasses of wine

The hotel is very well located, literally a few yards from the city centre. Our room looked out on the canal which was great. We loved the pool and spa. Breakfast was self service, buffet style but fine. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Nowhere to hang wet towels so they had to be exchanged daily-brought to their attention but not rectified. Poor lighting as wardrobe obstructed the light - rectified when brought to their attention. I do think both issues should not have arisen.

Good food in the restaurant, both breakfast and evening meal on day 1. Having eaten elsewhere and falling very ill afterwards on day 3, the staff were really helpful in extending the checkout time, providing cold drinks and confirming the room could be available for a further night if required...no additional charge for drinks and extended checkout time!

Our room was quite warm as it had the afternoon sun - there was a fan which helped but overnight was hot as we had to shut the window as we overlooked a busy road

No dedicated lounge area to relax in, there are a few chairs in reception area and there's the seating in bar area. Breakfast was ok, it was self service so food never really hot. Be good if hotel changed the old fashioned stainless steel tea, coffee, milk containers which were brought to the table.

Room overlooked canal which was as booked, bar in hotel served good food tho selection limited if staying more than few nights. Hotel Car park opposite was ideal , £9 each day.

Pricey for standards provided. No hangers for towels in bathroom. Parking charges outrageous and confusing for length of stay. £12 for 4pm to midday next day, hardly cheap. Yet staff say you can say to 1ish!! 😩 Not encouraging value for money in that aspect. Or common sense also (the queens you pay less but for a fixed 24 hour, which allows an afternoon in Chester the next day). Parking price should be incorporated into the room cost considering the price. Need more staff on reception at busy arrival times.

    Quieter than expected.

There were no drawers for clothing to go in and only 5 hangers which for 2 people was not enough. Breakfast was always lukewarm. Lots of noise from the dual carriageway road. Bathroom quite small.

Location was excellent. Bar was really nice with comfortable seating. Reception staff very nice and welcoming as were the bar staff and also kitchen staff. Toilets on the ground floor outside the bar, were really nice.
