Slight confusion when trying to find location - make sure Google is taking you to Merewood Country House and not Merewood Country House Hotel Apartments.

The room we had was clean and comfortable but could use some updating. Note that if you have heavy bags, there is no lift and you will need to haul them up the stairs. The main restaurant is lovely, we did not use the fine dining restaurant. Menu a bit lacking in vegetables.

Beautiful old country manor, well maintained in a spectacular country setting. Very quiet and peaceful location but easy access to Windermere and main roads in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The level of high Cuisine was not as High as I would expect. We had to wait a very long time at the reception and bar before someone showed up. But besides that not much :)

Not many staff so main areas were left uncleaned for a while

There was no lift, which is to be expected with an old manor!

Loved this manor. Just a beautiful quiet location. The gardens are stunning to walk around. The room had gorgeous beds, and well presented. Dinner was fabulous and delicious. Well priced. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Great Hotel ,stayed two nights B&B, and ate in the dog friendly dining room. Food, location, room, staff all very good. We took our well-behaved little dog with us. There where feeding and water bowls with doggy treats in the room when we arrived. Would we stay there again? DEFINITELY YES.

Most hotels do not offer a very comfortable mattress, it was a hard mattress and did not have the best sleep.

The hotel is well located had a beautiful view is a magnificent building with gorgeous grounds, the food was very good; all the staff was very friendly and helpful, very clean and well decorated room, loved the organic biscuits, no noise and enjoyed every moment.

Shower could have done with more pressure.

The rooms are lovely and clean with nice features. Love the bar and lounge areas with amazing views of the Lake. Staff are very friendly every time we visit.

Our room was very small for two people and a dog. Not the cleanest, the carpets didn't get hoovered at all during our 3 days there.

Beautiful location above Lake Windermere with great views. Very relaxed and friendly feel about it and they love having dogs there.

The property was in a stunning elevated position and beautiful kept grounds and building. The food we beautiful we had afternoon tea and used the grill on the evening. Staff we came across most attentive and friendly. Beautiful decorated and maintained

Unfortunately the service at dinner was very slow on the second day, apparently due to a couple of staff being absent. Something that couldn't be helped, overall our stay was excellent

The setting and ambience of the hotel was lovely as expected. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I was grateful to have my case carried up to the bedroom for me. Enjoyed the breakfast, good choice and the evening meal, beautifully cooked. Disappointed the soup was the same on both days of our 2 day stay. The homemade ice cream was special.
