Staff was exceptional and willing to help with anything we've needed. The room was very spacious, clean, with comfy beds and a large bathroom. Breakfast was very good, and staff was again, exceptional. The hotel is part of the university campus, surrounded by parks, trees, and nature, and there are a lot of students. Altogether it has a very pleasant vibe. You do need to walk like 2 kilometres to reach Royal Mile or Princess Street, but we do like to walk, so we didn't mind. We've rented a car for two days to travel around Scotland, and there was private parking on campus, which was also very useful. We would definitely come back here again.

As it is more or less in the middle of the university campus, you might here joyful young people coming home late at night...just turn around and listen to their jiggles

Rooms are spacious, very clean and very well equipped. The bar is nice, the gin garden is really beautiful. Food and drinks were decent, nothing to complain about.

The room was larger than we expected and the bed was very comfortable indeed. Unusually for most hotels there was a plug socket near a mirror, so my wife was able to dry her hair easily, which she was very pleased about. The free parking was a real bonus.

Price. I thought it was a lot of money for a fairly standard room (no frill). May have had something to do with timing - the Edinburgh marathon was over the same weekend.

Very cosy. Immaculately clean. Location in Pollock Halls was very convenient, especially as a parent of a student. Staff outstanding.

The staff were wonderful. Particularly the staff at dinner and breakfast. They showed an interest in what we were doing. Two stand out. One male and one female. And easy access to the city by bus if you chose not to walk it!!

Only downside I think is the price. Unfortunately, the hotels in Edinburgh are not cheap.

Very well maintained hotel, good breakfast option but the items were not topped up timely. The staff was really good to deal with. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean with brilliant toiletries. The beds were of very good size and mattress and beddings were high quality.

Outdoor lighting should be reduced or turned off after 11.

The quiet elegant atmosphere and location made this a great place to be away from the crowds in the town center. The restaurant is quite good and the wine list and whisky offerings are excellent and reasonably priced. Great all around value for the price. The proximity to hiking trails in Holyrood Park is a plus as are the lovely neighborhoods beyond the campus for walks.
