Fantastic grounds and location with very friendly and helpful staff with every interaction. What a wonderful escape in the heart of Scotland and would certainly visit again. The food and facilities are very good indeed.

Very poor ham sandwich from room service with 3 day old bread roll that crumbled into dust and impossibly chewy ham was great disappointment upon arrival when tired and exhausted from long flight.

Had fabulous weekend with my granddaughters , staff were great, friendly helpful. Facilities were perfect, the grounds, the pool the brassiere where we ate both nights, and bus into town, perfect will be back for longer stay

The map for the rooms and the boards displaying where you were , were very confusing! They need to simplify this and ask a guest to take them around the building and then they will realise how confusing it is. The pool room could have a bit of attention . Beds very firm.

Great venue, amazing grounds, staff were very attentive, maids were also great at cleaning the rooms. Great swimming pool. Food was really nice from breakfast to snacks.

We had a family room and the bed was quite small but still a great sized room.

Lovely setting and not too far from Edinburgh itself. Great leisure facilities but the weather hindered using all of the facilities outside. Having a choice of restaurants was great too.

- Large hotel but long wait for lifts. Most of the time it was due to housekeeping staff and trolleys using the same lift to go between floors. Often the lift door would open, but we couldn't get in as the housekeepers trolley takes up the space. We were greeted with the same issue, on its way back to us. We eventually decided to take the stairs - Walls are very thin. We was awoken at 2am by a drunk adults next door to us, shouting and singing. We had booked a family room with our 2 kids so was a bit annoyed that our kids were woken up by a room occupied by drunk adults. Not the hotel's fault but sound proofing could be better and not allocating family rooms with children next door to a group of adults 3 - Scottish breakfast, no black pudding, square sausage etc?!

The quality of food and service in the Brasserie did not meet my expectations. Food was ok... a little overcooked and bland. We came to the Brasserie towards the end of service and the staff were clearly in 'clear up' mode.

Location was great, room very comfortable, Pool and gym 10/10. Although the staff were mostly very young, they were all very professional and welcoming.

Breakfasts were lovely but when you ordered omelettes/poached eggs it was very difficult to get someone’s attention. And when you did the cooked dish arrived very late. Or the person taking your order didn’t understand.

Tennis Courts are unplayable, they haven't been maintained, surface is broken up, they should not be advertising this on the website!! Lack of options for my wife who has an dairy allergy, they were unable to provide alternatives on the menu, for example swapping our a brioche bun for a normal bread roll, the food at dinner did not meet our expectations

Good size room for standard double and excellent breakfast (buffet style) with helpful staff regarding any allergies etc. Swimming pool with sauna and steam room was clean. Overall staff were helpful

It is a little tired and dated. The room whilst comfortable, nice and clean had some shabby DIY on the bathroom door that makes you think the effort has not been made. Meals for Gluten free diet were not great but breakfast was good.

This is a lovely location and the hotel was nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I was disappointed with the breakfast setup, we were seated outwith the main restaurant. This is the area people queue to enter, I felt this was not appropriate and no service was provided at the table to let us order extra from kitchen. I understand there are flasks to enable self service for tea and coffee and that is a fantastic idea for taking out, but not for a breakfast I would expect from Dalmahoy. The food was excellent but let down with these aspects.

We love coming to Dalmahoy and we book to come at least few months or so for the past few years. We love the relaxed atmosphere, the walks around the hotel and the swimming pool. Food was fantastic as-well as service within the Brassiere. We went to the cocktail lounge for a lite lunch on arrival and there was limited games for my 9 year old girls , this is such a lovely place to sit especially with the weather on Saturday. We would have spent more time if there had been older age games. All staff we encountered were helpful and happy which was lovely.

Corridor en route to bedrooms was freezing and uncomfortable especially for my elderly mother who could not rush through the cold areas! Could not isolate the bedside lamps from main room lighting - awkward
