The staff was amazing except a waiter in my first breakfast at the hotel. I took a seat on a table by myself as it was my first time there and there was no one to welcome me at the entrance and he was so rude to ask me to stand up and wait outside the restaurant till someone could check my room number. It was not nice at all and I was so ashamed.

The location is perfect, next to all the attractions, you can do it all on foot if you like it. The hotel is clean, pleasant and the room is very nice.

We've been staying at Malmaison for many years. It's always been our favourite place in Birmingham. Unfortunately, every time we go more amenities have been removed from the rooms. It sounds like a petty list, but we've been used to better at this hotel and it seems they now charge more but provide less... No complimentary biscuits any more. No more robes or slippers. All the lovely bathroom products have been removed. No drawers (that's a strange one!). And NO FRIDGE! Just a big hole where it used to be. What is that about? Why remove the fridge? Disappointing. We will probably try somewhere else next time.

air con was not great and requested a fan but night staff were unable to locate one no bluetooth link to the tele to play music. had 2 members of staff and 2 managers come in and all did exactly the same thing when i had explained it wasnt working. not the end of the world but wernt able to change the TV or provide music doc as the maintenance team had finished for the day. spa is closed on a tuesday which was hidden away in the description. its there but not prominent so was very disappointed when i was told this when checking in. I was asked by the night duty manager to go to the reception when checking out to either offer a refund or complimentary stay at a later date to find this hadnt been passed on to the day shift and was informed by the checkin staff member that no issues had been reported regading my room so couldnbt do anything about it.

superb room with fantastic views of the city centre. really comfy bed that was big enough for a family of 5 to sleep in. lounge area is a great space for entertaining and seems silly but the black out blinds / curtains were spot on.

The view- this room was situated at the side of the building. I could see directly into another apartment building, therefore, not an inspiring view.

The rooms with all its amenities exceeded expectations- I was impressed by the robes, shower cap and dry cleaning provisions. You literally can turn up at this hotel with your clothes and some moisturiser and you are good to go. The bed was large and comfortable. We did not have breakfast to be able to comment, however, the Strarbuck's situated in reception is a nice touch.
