How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Our room/lift passes voided before our check out, well before the check out time

Honestly can't think.
We were looking for a City Centre Hotel, the Maldron is in a great location and close to the popular Crown and Robinson's Pubs. It is only a short walk from the bus station too. Easy check in with online option if you prefer. Our room was on the 6th floor, good reliable lifts. Clean and tidy with coffee making facilities, good shower, TV on the wall. Not the biggest of rooms but suited us. We opted to pay for the breakfasts. Lovely food and a great variety of items to choose from. We found all the staff pleasant and helpful.

Everything is supposed to be completed online. Late check-in at 3 - email didn't come through until 3.30 and no QR code. So I had to queue for 15 mins to try and get the room keys. Same thing happened at checkout - asked to drop keys onto the collection box but it didn't work. Also checkout was quite early.
The location was perfect. Room was clean and did the job.

I have to put something here so this is it. Everything was good. The young ladies at reception were fantastic and helpful. Would stay there again definitely.
Excellent staff!! Five stars for the super reception staff alone! Especially Sasha and "Neeve" (sorry I can't spell your name correctly) and their manager whose name I didn't catch - they were all excellent and extremely helpful. New and modern rooms and bathrooms and very comfortable place to stay. Would definitely stay there again.

Bars near the hotel play loud music well into the night; although the windows provide some protection, we slept badly because of the proximity to the noise.
Central location; easy to access the main sights. Helpful, courteous staff; clean room.

Bit disappointed the room did not have fridge, and the tea and coffee provided was poor. There was 3 of us in the room but was only provided with 2 complimentary bottles of water (although it was nice to have complimentary bottles provided). Bath towels were on the small side.
Very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom/shower. Friendly, helpful staff

Bar staff not so friendly or accommodating, asked for ice bucket champagne flutes, we had champagne to celebrate our birthdays, no ice bucket or flutes available, not good, linen on bed dirty marks

The room was great, bed comfortable but there was a few questionable stains on some of the chairs in the room. The paint was also stripping from the bathroom door frame and door. There was also a tiny hole in the bottom of the door in the bathroom door not enough to be bothered but enough to notice. This was probably the only poor quality about the room. We paid good money but that was not great.
The proper was in a great city centre location walking distance from everything

Sound proofing poor - kept awake on two evenings due to noise from building nearby and also very noisy next door room neighbours. Also water pipes made strange noises at times.

The hotel said that they would be paying 50% of the car park and when I was paying for the ticket at the car park, the total came to £21 and I only got £4 discount 😑
The room was great and the choice for breakfast was excellent
